Any news on round 14? Ive freed up one game, but have been risky enough to join another tourney which will seemingly move its starting date forward some, so Im wondering how busy I should get freeing up the second spot. As a freemium with a bit of a penchant for long arse games, it requires a bit of planning

You guys hear that CC changed rules so that tourneys must be finished within one year? I wonder how much of that rule is a direct result of this tournament. I also wonder why they care how long tourneys last. They should encourage tourneys that last over a year. This tourney is certainly gonna be another reason for me to renew my membership next year.

There were a few other tourneys that probably caused the new rule; just take a look through the ongoing tournaments forum. A fair amount from 2010 and even a few from 2009.

Probably.- Still, I agree. - Its only a problem if the activity in those tournaments arent high enough. And for a very long tournament, of course activity will slow a bit occasionally.

Im a fan of long tourneys too. If its expected to be more than a year, it should simply be specified in the sign up info.

I'm thinking there might have been a lot of tournaments abandoned that were overly long and complex and the TO disappeared/got tired. Even if this is the case, I wouldn't have a blanket rule that no tournaments can be over one year. Maybe you can become a senior TO or something. Prove, like HA certainly has, that you are willing to stick around for a while and run some long tournaments.

Of course, I don't know what the actual rule is right now, and perhaps they would allow someone like HA to run another one of these tournaments. I know he has been planning on other big tournies as he has said in this forum. HA, care to weigh in when you get back from vacation?

At this point wouldn't it be better to wait until new year.

i know i will be traveling sometime this week until the new year I ASSume it is something that could be echoed from the remaining players.

Update:

I am back from my get the hell away from CC--life is still busy--I just could not stay away from this crack addict web-site.

I will be updating all tourneys this week, but it will be a slow process--this one will have round 14 start--I will leave round 14 active until after the new year so you will have plenty of time to join games.

Anyone with issues where they missed playing games in round 13 will have to send me a sob story and if it is legit I may allow make up games against me on arms race of course

I have not read the thread but will do so in the next day or two and answer any questions that need to be answered--look for round 14 soon but not yet
