There wasn't exactly a major threat of you being lynched, so what do you gain by this apparent attempted suicide?

You shouldn't want to be lynched as either faction so unless this is a gambit of sorts, which right now I highly doubt, then I can only see this as a bizarre attempt to clear yourself and/or make ghostly look suspicious. By inviting votes you attempt to send out the message, "I am not scared of dying for the cause" but lets really ask what each faction gain from this.

Town: You pressurise another player but die in the process. You have more to lose and less to gain than simply trying to lynch this player.
Mafia: You send out a message of fearless martyrdom.
Third Party: Jester (unlikely due to nags actions) and lyncher have obvious benefits.
