Well, in the end of the game, that was because the game had opened up with the US putting so much on attack. I agree that the defense was weak at times though.

Nice game so far for Ghana-Germany, I had serbians pegged for the second place but now I hope the scores will just stay like that. Ghana has been quite convincing (besides only scoring on penalties ) with a good defense, and it'd be nicer to see Germany pound USA next round

Yeah. I'm hoping not! I think as long as Germany and Ghana don't tie, US won't face the Germans. If Germany wins, they win the group. If they lose, they're out of the tournament and Ghana wins the group. With Australia now up 1-0 over Serbia, Ghana plays the US if they lose or England if the tie or win (and Germany gets the US).

I feel sorry for Mexico. They play Argentina in the final 16, and if they manage to win there, they'll most likely face Germany in the quarter finals (unless England somehow beats Germany). US gets Ghana and then either Uruguay or South Korea. I'd say the US has somewhat reasonable chances of getting to the semi-finals (not great, but far better than if they played Germany and then Mexico/Argentina!).
