Hmm that makes sense Commie, basically defense would be a pickle but we can still rely on the usual tells to catch mafia even in this setup. Worth trying.

Karel can confirm though cause I don't really trust Flores on that
Also Revote Kwan rooting for these villains (- Sneijder) (ok - Elia too) is like rooting for mafia, hell scummy
In all seriousness, it will be very hard to make claiming useful at this point so no lynch might not be a bad idea, seems it could be way more random than usual today else...
Flores is, miraculously, right. And those are not the villains. The villains are the guys that messed up that last match against the Spaniards. Like the guy that impaled a Spanish player with his foot. Believe me, those shoes ain't teddybears.
I don't think that a no lynch would be the best idea at this point. You guys forget that the reason that we lynch on day 1 has nothing to do with the fact that people can defend themselves with their role but rather that it gives us hints onto how the scumwagons are going and stuff. We need that info. Defenses shouldn't be solely based on what role you haszel.

So what should we base today's lynch on? We didn't successfully catch anyone admitting to getting a role pm. So our possibilities are basing a lynch off of someone advocating or opposing a no lynch, looking for people who seem to be aligned, waiting for someone to slip-up, or sort of randomly lynching the first person who says something sorta scummy. Not really all that different from usual day 1 fare, which means that it our options still suck...
there are a few people we haven't heard much from. maybe we can start there? skoff, TWO, naxus? Anyone else I miss? Not really scummy since there hasnt been much to talk about but still....what else have we got to go on?
aage wrote:No lynch sucks. And I agree with chu that people should defend their motives, not their roleclaim.
Well, but it's rather hard to find any motives right now as nothing seems to be going on. Furthermore, it's not that hard to choose a motive, especially since most of us are in complete dark. As I've said before, statistically speaking, a lynch definitely is an option and it could work out.
Since nothing definitely worth pursuing came out as of yet, we may want to look at our inactives, since they're not contributing to anything anyway.

Question...Only town has the gifting thing correct? Mafia are all established roles?
Nice skimming
No, mafia also have roles to give away and they don't know what they are.
Completely missed that whole page
With the gifting thing said, I feel like the mafia is gonna be overpowered in this game only because they know who else is mafia. The town will be stumbling about randomly sending gifts while the mafia can somewhat coordinate

Could be, but remember, we have no idea about the system, so there might be safeguards. The idea is awesome and this could turn out to be a great game. Possibly a bit too early to be getting desperate

We still have numbers on our side though. Although we will be stumbling around at first, after a few nights we should have a good idea of what is going on and what we can do. I would say it is only the first few nights that scum will have the advantage. After that, we have more presents and more people to use them and we will have a good idea on who to give them to.
You know, I think Kwan might be right that some gifts will be negative. It wouldn't make much sense for mafia to have great powers for example since they could just send them to each other.
(there, I hope I instilled doubt in the scums who will now avoid sending gifts to themselves )

Actually I was hoping mafia would not realize their gifts might be negative, and I think they must be.
I intentionally didn't say it out loud

I think that the people who suggested the no lynch deserve some attention. vote safari for bringing it up.

I haven't been posting much because I haven't had anything to contribute. I'd rather submarine than post nothing but fluff. If you'd rather a daily post that doesn't say anything, then, by all means, I can do this. I just figured I'd try not to post useless rubbish for once. [keyword being "try"]
I, too, agree with Chu in that lynching someone on day 1 will be better than a no lynch, even if we get a townie. [For the same reasons that he stated.]

yeah I know. Like I said, submarining on day one isnt really that scummy since there's nothing really to talk about, but bringing it up is a startoff point for conversation.
The main thing I can think of right now is that there's no way to counterclaim Day 1. Anybody could claim cop or doc and nobody could prove them wrong. Most Day 1 lynches come down to forcing a claim and then testing validity. We have no benchmark there. I'm not advocating a Day 1 no lynch, but the idea of "pressuring" someone doesn't really work here and we should take that into consideration.
