too bad symmetry's racist witch hunt got in the way of any meaningful discussion.
It usually does. The man has an agenda. People with agendas tend to see what they want to see.
Interesting, what's my agenda?
My guess would be that you aim to expose homophobia and racism wherever you see it.
That may be an honorable agenda but the problem when you have an agenda is that you're constantly trying to pursue it. You're looking for the things you wish condem everywhere and a lot of times find them when they aren't there.
Do you think that I wish to condemn everyone? Or are you trying to say that the agenda you guess I have is targeted against wrong examples of racism?

Great point, Gillipig. Symmetry is providing us a great example of confirmation bias and the pretense of knowledge. He constantly sees "racism" from other posters but mainly because he presumes to know the posters' intentions and meaning of their own statements.

For example, in page 3, I try to clarify the meaning of 72o's post--in order to actually understand what he's saying. Symmetry spots "racism" and counters it with flaming while failing to read my questions on clarifying 72o's stance and 72o confirming that clarification.

Unfortunately, we get Sym rattling on about a straw man argument (throughout page 3), but Sym's locked in this trajectory. Then he fusses about minor details, while reaffirming his ignorance by flaming and continuing his false conception of 72o's stance.

It seems that Symmery isn't aware of his own cogntive bias, and he refuses to publicly admit his presumption of knowledge on other people's stances. It's sad because this forum doesn't need such low-grade posting. If Symmetry sincerely wanted to effectively deal with racism, then he needs to change tactics.
