You may also want to consider that every time you lose a 12 v 3 on the attack, the defender has got that lucky swing but not only is he less likely to remeber it, there's also a chance he effectively doesn't see it at all (all he sees is a depleted stack next to a depleted stack)

As I write this my split is as follows: 3v2 58.7%, 3v1 35.1%, 2v2 1.3%, 2v1 2.3%, 1v2 0.9%, 1v1 1.5%
(amusingly I had made precisely 2000 3v2s when I wrote this)
