Do you want the prominent Forum link back the way it was?

Yes. Forums are important to this site and should be easily accessible.

So the OP isn't implemented, but it sounds like this is the best we're going to get. It'll take some getting used to, but I don't think it's a bad compromise. I actually kind of like it.
