well done Mark Cavendish last night. he's like a motor bike when he gets going. i feel sorry for the French Champion(forgot his name), 10 metres away from winning when he was in the 3 man break away for 220km.
Mark Cavendish said he is the fastest man over 150/200 metres and he proved it last night. as long as he gets a clean run in, no one can stop him.
first main Mountain Stage tonight.

Kim Kirchen in the Yellow Jersey now, after Schumacher fell in the last couple of KMs.
Ricco won the 5th stage with a very good finish at the top of the mountain(Super Besse).

Kim Kirchen((Luxemburg)2nd place at the moment), is tipped for great things and could easily finish on the podium this year.
.
Guess you're right great stage today, and Coumbia is showing well.

Sanchez won yesterdays stage, he's in Valverde's team.
today stage as brilliant, you can't stop Mark Cavendish. pissing down in rain, he had the White jersey rider, the Yellow jersey rider,Hincapie and a few others of his team leading him off in the last 3km, but then another team took the race away from team Columbia. in did not mean jack shit to Cavendish though. he still had his lead off man with him and from 200m out he is so explosive you can't stop him. if he makes it over the Pyrenees and the Alps, you know he is going to win in Paris(stage not the whole race).
he's off to the Olympics after to this.

Ricardo Ricco won his 2nd Mountain stage(did not finish on a mountain though), on the last climb he was going pat them as if they where riding in treacle.
tomorrows stage should be a corker. bigger mountains than todays stage and mountain top finish with all the top riders ready to do battle. we'll see if Cadel Evans of Aljandro Valverde is up for it or if someone else throws their hat in the ring.

well done Leonardo Piepoli for winning stage 10. a very good break by Franck Schleck to break some of the favourites, but Cadel Evans just about done enough to take the Yellow Jersey by 1 second.
it's a rest day today, so stage 11 is on Wednesday.

hello DAZMCFC
this year the tour is a steal without Alberto Contador, it is like the world cup soccer if Brasil,Argentina or Italia don´t play because one player use drugs.
the last Giro, Contador was on holidays when Astana told him.

numbers, you have a fair point. he probably knew the consequences before joining Astana, just like Levi Leipheimer did. they are probably looking at the rest of the cycling season, including the Olympics.
about the
Football World cup, those teams still have to qualify for the said tounament.

Norways Kurt-Asle Arvesen won the 11th stage.
news this morning that Ricardo Ricco winner of 2 stages has failed an EPO test and his team (Saunier Duval) has pulled out of the race. that's 3 people so far tested positive.

Mark Cavendish won his 3rd Stage, the first time a Brit has won 3 Stages in any Le Tour in one year.
the lad is unstoppable on an even platform.

Mark Cavendish won his 4th stage, breathtaking stuff from the 23 year old.
Oscar Friere won the 14th stage in a sprint finish. there was a small mountain 11km from the end so the climbersput the pressure on most of the sprinters. Mark Cavendish was one of the sprinters that could not hndle the pace up the mountain an was tailed off.
The Alps tomorrow, it could be a grueller. there is a distinct possibilty that ark Cavendish could retire tomorrow. he has to think about the Olympics, he says if he is feeling fine he make it through to Paris.

nice input.
anyway today was won by an Aussie, Simon Gerrans, but the real excitement was further back. Cadel Evans lost the Yellow Jersey to Frank Schleck. Evans is 8 seconds behind Schleck now and Benard Khol(Austrain) is in 2nd place 7 secondsbehind Schleck. very good 1st stage in the Alps today, rest day tomorrow and they need it with 2 more Alps stages to go.
Mark Cavendish did not start todays stage and pulled out, so he can prepare for the olympics. i'm pretty sure next year he'll be going for the Green Jersey.

Didn't follow much of it this year. I'll see if I can watch some tonight, but I doubt it.

I felt the same before, but last year I watched it on account of nothing to do and being on some fucking island, and I actually liked it. The fun is in hearing the commentary and watching the last minutes and watching the landscape or seeing a bunch of dudes discuss the result of the day while they enjoy a glass of wine and the climate of france.
It's not a very exciting thing, it's relaxed.
