I took a look at your game, i was surprised by the lack of trust and team spirit in the Americans...our game was nothing like that, we played it as a doubles.

You can never trust a yankee. They just friendly fired on our British troops in Irag , killing 3 and wounding 5 (2 of them seriuosly).....

That's not funny. It was an accident, lets keep things like that out of this.

Americans stick together

Clive, I don't know what game you have been looking at, but in Game 769324 which involves the defeat of the tourney organizer and his cohort, the Americans took control of the game early and did not look back. Of course in the end we will have to battle out the game to determine which of us gets the higher spot in round 2.

Which brings me to my question, what happens if there are not enough Brits left to start games with the Americans? What is the format for round 2?

Well i'll be damned. I'm a cohort. Is that like a general or something.

And as for there not being enough Commonwealth players, I wouldnt worry about it. Its quality not quantity that counts.

2007-08-20 16:06:02 - tabsnake: sorry DresdenSooner...I just knew that everyone was from a different country other than the USA.
2007-08-20 16:12:24 - tabsnake: and you started out with that bonus. I didn't look back through the thread to see which team you were playing for.

2007-08-25 03:52:35 - tabsnake: sorry Dresdensooner...I just couldn't let you take S. England like that. We almost have it down to the 2 of us and you did attack me 1st without any warning.

Oh, that. Well, we really didn't want to start out with such a huge advantage anyway. We fight fair when we can. In the end we got it all sorted out and took care of business.

Please check the update on page one

Round One is nearly over with just 2 games left to play but im afraid 6 games were cancelled due to lpayers not showing up!! So far Great Britiain and the Commonwealth are kicking butt with 3 wins against USA's 1 (i lost the only ussa win - typical :? )

2 players were given a bye into the Second Round because of no shows and they were both from the Commonwealth so thats further good news to the Queen and Empire...

2nd round format

Will we continue with the 2 on 2 format for the second round, or will there be some other style game? Just curious as to how this is going to progress and as to when it will continue.

It looks that mostly commonwealth progress... How we will continue in round 2? We don't have enough US asses to kick :)

If commonwealth will be such a majority of qualifiers, we should admit that GB and Commonwealth won the tournament.

Otherwise the idea of this tourney will be lost..

Hmmm....Theres a great british saying "its not over till the fat lady sings"....

how is everyone finding this tournament. Its a fairly new concept. I could have made it a straight doubles game and it was very interesting to see how people reacted to the idea.

Feedback: Idea was great, but it's implementation was quite weird with people representing the same side fighting against each other :)

It would be more logical, if there would be some kind of points system for games. Like 1x1 games at everymap or 2x2 games at every map, with points for victory accumulated separately for GB and Commonwealth, and separately for US for relevant victories. And in the end of the tourney, when all maps would be played, we would more fairy know, who is better at CC :)

Now there is 44 maps, so, my idea, if there would be 11 players in each team (11 in US, 11 in GB& Commonwealth), in first round, could be set first 11 maps, 1x1, same options (esc, sec, unlim, for example), players join the available game on their own choice, the only condition: no games against the players of your team. So, practically every game should be Commonwealth vs US. And then for every victory 3 points to the team.
When first round is over, the 2nd startds, with maps from 12th till 22th. 3rd round maps from 23-33, and 4th - 34-44.
If the game continues over 20 rounds, it's considered to be a draw and brings 1 point to both teams.
And when all 44 maps are played - then total points per team show, which side won.

More complicated version: when there are both single and double games played at every map. So, 1st round, again first 11 maps start also as doubles, and every player should register in two games. Players team up as they want, but only with their side: US with US, GB&Commonwealth with GB&Commonwealth. Points are counted the same way. And then again it would be more fair basis to defining, which side is winning - as both single and double playing skills at occasional maps would be demostrated.

So, practically then every participant will need 3 slots.

Oh, I did not expect to write to much :)
