If you do not like this thread why post it seems kind of petty to just enter and belittle the people that have chosen to particpate and discuss themselves

Soloman, he's right though, if a thread can't keep itself alive, let it die gracefully. If it falls off the front page it just wasn't meant to be and shouldn't be bumped I'm afraid.

It was a valiant attempt indeed.

The only reason Twill posted was to tell you to let it go. Instead of locking a thread (because someone later on might post here for a good reason...since it is a pretty good idea...) he was ONLY posting to tell you to quit bumping the thread when nobody is actively interested in it.

Now, myself...a few coworkers forced me to play when I got hired (since one was the manager, and another the assistant manager, i complied). They since have quit playing, and I have kept going strong.

Hi all ... I'm Faisal and I live in London. 35 years old and a banker by profession. I was introduced to risk at around the age of 6 while on a family holiday. We were at a hill station called Nathiagali in the Himalaya's with no one else around and not too much to do after dark ... so we used to play risk every night. I have been playing it on and off ever since - came accross this particular website while searching the net for something interesting to do to alleviate boredom at work.

While the online version is great - I sometimes still miss the actual original board game. I remeber the one we first used to play with had army pieces made out of solid wood - depicted in roman numerals (they were in denominations of I, III, V and X)not the plastic stuff you get now - it was really nice. I do love the fog of war capability that comes with the online version - it makes the game more interesting when you can't be sure of peoples real strength. I must confess I haven't really played many of the alternative maps ... maybe I'm just traditional at heart, but I tend to stick to the original map and world 2.0 (which I consider to be a logical expansion of the original). Anyway, that's about it from me for now ... hope to play against some of you in the near future ...

Let's try and get this thread resurrected. It has a lot of potential and would have gone okay had Dancing Mustard not intentionally derailed it.

I am a college student, got referred to this site by a buddy I know who was insistent that I try it. Well I didn't enjoy it at first- didn't even have a clue how to attack or fortify. Soon I learned that there were dice, the goal was to take armies away from the other territory, and that you can fortify armies. Then I learned about bonus armies. I was beginning to get on a roll, but took a ban for having a multiple account. 3 months later I had a credit card and decided to give this thing another shot, so here I am again. I learned how cards worked, started winning some singles games, and eventually got myself to cadet! I took a huge rise through the ranks by playing terminator casual games, and at my highest point reached 1800 points.

Unfortunately that success was to be short lived. A few games of bad dice brought me down a couple hundred points, and then I got caught playing too many speed games at once after having too much to drink, and fell back down to cook again. I'm in a rebuilding phase, looking to making it back to 1800 and see where I can go from there.

Hello CC. I'm Jack, 15, rising junior in high school. I've been playing RISK since I was like, 7 I guess. Never was too good at it until I found CC. First day I made my account I bought premium and was very happy with the decision . I started like shit, lost the great majority of my games. Then I started to pick out some strategy and became a good (I think) triples partner and also became fond of 1v1 games.

Away from CC, I play guitar. I'm quite good, definitely, if not the best, one of the best in my school (not bragging, just stating facts here people). But my heart truly lies (ya I know that sounded gay) in science. I never really liked science until 9th grade, where I had a funny, but still really good Biology teacher. This past year, I took Chemistry and my teacher LOVED me. I always paid attention, was never late, did all my homework, finished first by far and the best on all the tests. Also during 10th grade, I became interested in astrophysics. I'm not really sure how, though. I just started watching a ton of shows on TV, like The Universe, and other shows on the History Channel and the Science Channel.

Music-wise, I listen to Metal, mostly. My favorite band is Testament, used to be into Metallica a lot, then Megadeth, but I don't listen to them as much anymore. I also enjoy Trance music, Old School Rap, and Classical Guitar.

Yup that's about it for me.

Introduced to CC by my brother in law stocksr who took "Troy's original CC Script" and progressed it a good deal of the way towards the BOB we know now ... continuing development by yeti_c. My brother in law probably only introduced me to bounce his script ideas off ... and he's since moved on - he's not currently an active member.

I on the other hand am still here enjoying my personal poison of 6/7/8 player World 2.1, flat rate and the meta-game experience of forums - particularly Bugs & Suggestions and to a lesser obsessive extent Map Foundry - and now, as if to confirm my addiction, moderation. I helped my brother in law and continue to help yeti_c with the help file for BOB.

I've even started reading and posting in General Discussion ... [Though even this was Bugs & Suggestions driven - the Ratings & Medals update came out of the blue for me because it was discussed here in General Discussion and so I hadn't seen it in development ...] I didn't realise so much interesting stuff happened in GD.

Anyhow, I don't remember how old I was the first time I played the board game Risk. I do have some very fond memories of my brother and I playing days long games keeping the board safe from being messed up under his bed at night. I loved those days. Time went by and Noone around me would sit still long enough to get the board out and play. So as I became a little more computer savvy (still a work in progress) and winning a free game download from a McDonalds Game, downloaded an offline version of risk, I did a search for online Risk sites to play against others besides a computer. Yes this site was the number one response. I checked it out and quickly became a premium member. I now have a wonderfull wife, who thinks i spend a little too much time here sometimes. I have 3 children and 2 step children. I live in Texas and love it.

20 year old Business student from NZ. Got 6 months left of my Diploma then onto my Degree. Got a Risk board game when I was 12, the pieces got lost because of younger siblings . Was looking for an online Risk site while staying up all night, googled Risk and this came up. Took a brief 4 week hiatus when I didn't have internet in my new flat and have had ongoing internet issues for the past month and a half but the internet is now back.

first post so sorry if i messed this up. im a 21 year old tank loader, US Army. found this site when i was deployed in iraq from a few guys in my platoon. Tried playing a few games between missions. i used to play risk with my tank commander, platoon sargeant and some other guys in the company whenever we had the board. got injured a few months ago and had too much time on my hands so went premium and glad i did. its fun playing against all kinds of people who have different styles of play. Hey all, this is the closest thing to an introduction thread that I could find. I'm 25 from the US and play at wawgame with the same name. I'm really enjoying the Pearl Harbor map and can't wait to see some of the other new ones. Made a couple stupid errors getting used to the new rules and options--watch out from now on.
