I am new to the thread and have too much in my head to type so I will just start with the most recent to reply to.

1. Abortion: the Pres or Vice Pres do not make abortion legel or not. Even 8 years of Palin as president would not overturn abortion and Mccain said it should be a state issue anyway. I think you can drive a few ours to kill your baby right?

2. Believe it or not we do have the technology in 2008 to drill without screwing up the environment. We just apparently can't put oil in a boat without crashing it all over the world. The more reason to drill close to us so we have less long boat rides full of crude coming from the middle east and spilling everywhere. Oh, an the money goes to terrorist countries!

3. I am not sure if you are against the death penelty here but if you are I am cunfussed because you favor the right to murder your own baby if it is convenient for you to live your life better.

4. Darwin himself thought evolution to be a theory and never said he thought it was fact. If you are truly in favor of education don't you think all information should be presented unbiasly in PUBLIC SCHOOL so people can make up their own minds? After all, we want freedom of choice right? She wuld not imposing her view like evolution is now imposed even though over 1/2 the country believes in creationism.

5. We know global warming appears to exist...the question is what is really causing it. No one has any real proof for sure, you just hear Al Gore furthuring his recognition with the topic. I think keeping his private jet on the ground would help clean up the air though.

6. whats wrong with guns? Criminals will always be able to get guns regardless of the law. Is it the NRA members shooting people on the streets and robbing stores?

7. They have the right to get married right now and always have but they have declined to do so and are asking for extra "rights" to get "married" in some unatual disordered way.

8. Just because not as many people decide to follow it does not mean it's not the right approach to teach. You still tell your kids not to do drugs and not, how to do drugs in a "safer" way? both can screw you up and are just as adicting. Oh, and I suppose we should do what Obama says and teach 4 year old kindergardeners what sex is......Yah, great idea!

9. If you don't want the fight taken to the terrorists perhaps a plane should crash into your house or place of work. I havent seen that happen in America for 7 years and I am sure they did not just stop trying to do it.

10. Sounds good...What's the problem? Other endangered animals have come off the list before and have even been allowed hunting permits afterward.

11. This is a consistant error the Democrates promote. The republican party...including Palin, are in favor of Adult stem cell research which is the research that has the record of all the advances and cures in the stem cell research. Fetal stem cell research is what kills early lives and has yelded no advances despite private companies dumping more money than anyones business into trying to make them do something. Private companies who own these patents for lines of study are the lobbiests that want federal funding to research their failing methods instead of using what is working.

13. She never banned any books so stop being a Socialist mind drown who bites on every Bias reporting the Obama love fest has to offer. Most of the books on the "list" were not even published yet when she was in office.

15. Oh and Obama hasn't done jack in about 2 years as a senator. If you are concerned about Sarah maybe you should realize you are looking at putting someone DIRECTLY into the presidency who is no more qualified than Sarah.

I don't think it's about whether she can change it or not, but more like how that plays into her system of beliefs and her overall character.

The problem is their are better, more effective ways to increase the prey population for hunters which is a big reason why this is happening. Other than that it gets really complicated and to avoid a long post I won't go over it all here.

Someone on BBC news today said something particularly relevant about Sarah Palin - she thinks God dictates her countries direction, she hates homosexuals with a passion, she is against abortion and believes everything in her holy text is literally correct. If you gave her a full muslim look, burka and all, she would be considered one of the worst extremists of her type, but because she has the hairdo, much-lauded lipstick and expensive glasses, nope - she's a VP candidate.

In short, I'd be fucking scared.

Your comments about what the BBC say make no difference. Can you acctually show me the quote where Sarah said....and YOU quote, "I hate homosexuals with a passion" If not then stop believing the media bias that is so evident. I have no dought she does not like the homosexual lifestyle but I gaurentee she does not hate homosexuals.....show me where she said that. Oh and FYI, the Bible has had more of its writtings historically proven than any other historcal book or text (by secular historians) so maybe you should give it some credit as being reliable.

Not to be a dick but I think that proving "genesis" is pretty hard, and so are all the other actual things non-christians don't believe in. I don't have any trouble believing Jesus was some carpenter who had some interresting stuff to say, or that the jews had to leave egypt, but not all of that supernatural shit that is the more important part.

No, what you said was in response to my post and to a perceived likening of sarah palin to terrorists, when the likening was in fact to extremist muslim women (or crossdressers). As for the bible being "proven", what you mean is "the historical context in which the bible is set in appears accurate". This doesn't validate the teachings or views therein - to draw a parallel, I could write a story today saying that I cycled to a nearby town, spent 10 minutes there conversing with the avatar of the god of pink woolly elephants, and then returned home again. While in 1700 years time they might prove that yes, I did take the bike journey, this does not prove that I met the avatar of pink woolly elephants. See, I never did. You assumed that, from when I compared her with muslim extremists (in case you're wondering, "extremist" means "holds extreme views", not "holds views that are equivalent to 'DEATH TO THE WEST!'").

it's not because the media gives him a pass, as you put it, it's because I think he's the better candidate - some of the most important policies for me as a brit rather than an american suggest that Obama will be the better candidate for the rest of the world with regards to his views on foreign policy and the economy. I don't watch ABC news, nor was I even supporting Obama with my post - merely criticising Palin, who I do not believe is a good candidate. To fill you in...the American mainstream media is horibbly bias and does the county and the world a huge diservice. Obama has lots of radical friends and black & white race views in the U.S. is much different than in Europe. Don't worry everyone, the last time this kind of rabbit out of the hat trick was pulled, it was done by Mondale with Ferraro.

Reagan still won, by about 33 points, I believe. Palin might keep "Impalin" (TM, Copyright, pimpdave 2008) the Obama campaign for another week or so, but the buzz will die down, people will realize (through the debates) that this is a contest between Obama and McCain, and will be decided as such.

Ferraro gave Mondale a boost for about 2 weeks as well, even surging up over Reagan, in some polls. This really isn't the deciding factor for the election, nor should we allow people to try and make it such.

while i dont disagree with anything in that particular article i have to admit a bit of a love hate sentiment toward mr beck in general. Maybe this has already been mentioned somewhere in this thread, but these are NOT actual Sarah Palin quotes - they've been floating around the internet as such, but like many other "facts" on the internet they are bogus.

That said, I don't much care for Sarah Palin. She strikes me as a moderately intelligent woman and she is clearly very ambitious, but as the recent ABC interview proves she is nowhere near ready to be a 72-year-old man's heartbeat away from the presidency. Putting her on the ticket was a great political move, but nobody can convince me that she should be anywhere near the oval office.
