That's a shame, Clemson made it into a great game.

Tech 30, Clemson 27.
that was a good game.

Yep. A couple of things could have been done better by both teams, but I can't complain about anything but the end result.

AHH! well I wasn't planning to watch the whole thing anyways.

Twas a good game---I watched it all the way through while working on a few other things. GT looked like they were going to be a force to reckon with in the ACC in the first quarter---and then by the fourth they looked like they were going to drop a few ranks.

Maybe Clemson finally sorted out a few things last night
that will help them turn around this 0-2 start.

I just noticed that USC-OSU is not a nationally televised game, except on ESPN. NBC must have fumbled and is airing reruns of Law & Order instead, FOX is showing Cops & America's Most Wanted, while CBS has the US Open Tennis Women's Final and ABC presents the NASCAR Sprint Cup

Mind you, ESPN is going to show it in...3D? :)

I hope so. As a Georgia fan I hate Tech more than any other team. Florida and Tennessee are better because they're in the SEC. Georgia fan first, SEC fan second.

I think the problem lies with the Big 10 and Ohio State slowly slipping off the national radar.

We're 1-1. We beat Middle Tennessee 37-14 last Saturday. Not that that's much better than a loss, but maybe a little better. :D

Oops... I was thinking they played Baylor, but that was Wake Forest.

Off the radar? It's #3 vs #8 ffs and the biggest NCAA matchup of the 2nd week.

True. I actually meant to say part of the problem.

Well, this may not be the heyday of the Big 10, but I suspect they'll be back eventually. Ohio State is rarely a pushover as both Penn State and Texas know all too well.

I saw that game with Texas. It was far from either team playing their best.

Oh come on... both UT & OSU made plays and both teams are always factors
on each other's progress as the game plays out. Much like 'Bama
getting bowled over by the UNDEFEATED Utah Ute's.

Alabama may have been anticipating another Georgia/Hawaii debacle
but instead Utah jumped on 'em right from the git go and never let up.

Connecticut is outplaying Carolina so far leading by a field goal at the half and Troy is giving Florida a competitive game so far, but their own mistakes have given the Gators an 11 point lead.

update: Florida has it sorted out and is finally stating to roll with 8 minutes to go in the half.
Buh bye Troy... you made a game of it for a quarter and half.

About what I expected. they keep it close early (for whatever reasons) and then Florida pulls away. Make no mistake. Troy maybe a bit of a cup cake team but they're one of the better ones.

3rd Quarter, Wyoming 10 Texas 20.
Wyoming was even ahead of of Texas at one point.

33 point margin my ass.

I imagine if USC wins tonight against Ohio State that they'll likely jump over Texas in the standings. Don't think they'd move ahead of Florida after Florida allowed less than 7 points and scored 56 but it's possible. Meanwhile #5 OK State is having some difficulty with Houston.

Ohio State has been struggling with USC too. Guess they cant beat the big boys. 8-)

Wyoming couldnt find the endzone on offense, they got a lucky break on a blocked punt and had the lead for all of 30 seconds until the future Heismann winner Colt McCoy hooked up with Kirkendoll for the lead going into the half.

After the half was over you saw McCoy come out and be the Texas Qb that he is and lead us to a 31 point win.....

Had Texas came out to play in the 1st half this would have easily been a 40 plus win margin game for us...

The 2 notable games to talk about up to this point have to be Houston showing up Ok State and Michigan and their Freshman QB poised enough to get it done in a tough game.

I knew Houston would put up the points, their offense has great potential, but being able to hold on and keep fighting, although the tipped TD on 4th down was nothing short of luck, the int return to lock the game up for the Cougs was very impressive.

And Forcier's quick feet on that TD and poise to stay in there and keep making the big plays even with ND doing all they could was great.. Both games were awesome..

Georgia and South Carolina have all but doubled last year's total score heading into the half 31-23 Georgia. last I checked both Auburn-Miss State and LSU-Vandy were close games that could end up going either way. Tennessee lost to UCLA (again). And Alabama was struggling iwth Florida international? All in all, not an impressive day for the SEC so far and really Georgia was playing awful (with the exception of one brilliant play off a kick return for a 100 yard touchdown) until they were finally able to get their offense back on the field.

Outside the SEC, OSU beating USC last I checked, OK State embarrassed 45-35 after being outscored 21-7 in the 4th quarter, and missouri was losing early to Bowling Green. Also Michigan won a close one against Notre Dame 38-34. I only saw the highlights of the game but from what little I saw it looked like a game of good offense and highly questionable defense.

I thought Notre Dame lost that game more than Michigan won, not sure we should get too far ahead of ourselves. While. like I said in the game thread, Forcier was sex, not sure this is the Rodriguez redemption, yet. There are still plenty of games to go. And come on, like Notre Dame is ever not massively overrated?
