It was an honest opinion. I can see you worship soccer.the.killing.44 wrote:Phatscotty is a troll.
Yep, like all of Europe.Phatscotty wrote:American's are too rich and culturally advanced to pay attention to soccer.
Soccer is so popular worldwide because there are so many poor countries.
Yeah, but I had to sacrifice money and being cultured to do so…Phatscotty wrote:It was an honest opinion. I can see you worship soccer.the.killing.44 wrote:Phatscotty is a troll.
Europe is full of poor countries. They just don't know it yet.InkL0sed wrote:Yep, like all of Europe.Phatscotty wrote:American's are too rich and culturally advanced to pay attention to soccer.

There are exceptions of course, as I was speaking generally. Why do you think soccer has such a hard time in America?the.killing.44 wrote:Yeah, but I had to sacrifice money and being cultured to do so…Phatscotty wrote:It was an honest opinion. Low scoring, bad spectator sport in American minds. Flopping, umm.... I'm really just paraphrasing a debate that's been going on for some time. And culture and wealth has never come up. Granted, you never came in here before...Phatscotty wrote:There are exceptions of course, as I was speaking generally. I don't want to rag too much on soccer because I already laid out my points. Soccer is a great game and it's awesome at times.Phatscotty wrote:There are exceptions of course, as I was speaking generally. Why do you think soccer has such a hard time in America?

It's hard not to kick it too high. When you kick the ball hard, you have to angle your foot just right to keep it down. If you kick it without thinking, it'll go up, especially if it's bouncing.silvanricky wrote:I don't want to rag too much on soccer because I already laid out my points. That said - it's not just that guys miss open goals, but that they boot the damn ball way up into the stands and then hold their hands over their head. Then you hear the announcer say something like, "oh, he knew he missed a golden opportunity on that one". It's one thing to miss and it's another to kick the freakin' thing high up into the crowd. My friends and I have been getting into the tournament though. It's fun. We take a drink every time somebody kicks the ball high into the stadium and then covers their face.
We had to stop after the 15th time in the 1st half or we wouldn't have lasted.
So what constitutes a rich country, other than the US? There's a difference between a Western European country in a recession and Haiti or something. It sounds like you think the entire world is poor, except for the US.Phatscotty wrote:Europe is full of poor countries. That's probably cause you're leaning back when you're shooting. When you shoot if you lean back, the ball will go up. If you lean forward it will stay down.InkL0sed wrote:It's hard not to kick it too high. When you kick the ball hard, you have to angle your foot just right to keep it down. Isn't that how it happens in most sports? I doubt there's many, if any, sports where participants try to lose...Frito Bandito wrote:One, and only ONE, of the problems with soccer, is too often they play not to lose
