He really should have won the Heisman.
hes an amazing talent, but I just dont see how you can give him or even Gerhardt the nod over other candidates that lead their teams to a perfect regular season...

The Heisman isn't a team award, so the team's record should be irrelevant to it. In fact, if anything, I would suggest that a team's record should be held AGAINST a player if it's that good because perhaps the player wouldn't really be that outstanding without the strength of his teammates around him. In other words, a stronger team means the individual has to do less to stand out.
...I prefer a man who will burn the flag and then wrap himself in the Constitution to a man who will burn the Constitution and then wrap himself in the flag.

Definitely one way of seeing it. But the way I see it is, this player that we award the overall most talented player of the year goes to the single player that helped lead his team to heights in which were unattainable without him, and the whole team rose to perfection from the benefit of playing alongside of him. Hence a guy who's team went 12-0 or 11 -1, not 9-3 and a loss in the conference championship..
But Suh is the man, no doubt about it.. He should very well be the number 1 pick for the best player in college when it really matters..

hawkeye is leading right now with a total prediction of 3 right and 1 wrong. Seems the Middle Tenn game gave everyone fits, as no one predicted that one right

Thank you Thank you. I seem to be the only one who picked Wyoming to win. Criticize my thinking now men!
Still lots of games left, should be close in the end. Although I won last year as well.

Hopefully I picked my upsets right.. i still feel confident in my picks, and I changed my Wyoming pick to Fresno like a day before the game, serves me right.

Did you pick SMU over Nevada? It's not the Pony Express of old but Kyle Padron went 32 of 41 for 460 yards and 2 TDs and a final score of 45-10. June Jones Xmas Holiday return to Hawaii was certainly a jolly event for the former Rainbow Warrior coach... I do believe he knows the secret of tossing the rock on the big island.

I ALMOST changed my Nevada pick to SMU, because of the two big rushers being out. Then I thought...sure, June Jones is there, but it's SM-freaking-U and kept it the same. Oh, and I had a confidence of 30 on it (which I DEFINITELY should have had the sense to change, regardless). Dammit.

Yeah I had my doubts with Nevada too, then end of first quarter I was like 'WHAT THE HELL!" So much for 5-1 huh?
SMU blew out Nevada? wasn't this the necxt best tem after Boise in the WAC? OR am I mistaken. Either way this bowl season isn't loolking good so far for the wac. course it isn't looking too good for the PAC 10 either.

A couple of agreements across the board on the MWC board are; There is BSU, then the rest of the WAC. BSU is the only team in the WAC that actually has a good defense. After Boise, the WAC teams all have marshmellow defenses.

Nevada was definitely a good team. They were the first team in NCAA Division 1 history to have three 1000 yard rushers in the same season. Unfortunately, two of those 1000 yard rushers did not play in this game (one with injury and one with academic problems). I'm not sure it would have won them the game (their defense had to show up for that to happen), but it would have made the game a lot closer.
Allegedly, Nevada's run defense is stout, but their pass defense is pathetic. Well...SMU doesn't exactly run the ball either. <sigh>
...I prefer a man who will burn the flag and then wrap himself in the Constitution to a man who will burn the Constitution and then wrap himself in the flag.
An offense has to take what the defense gives them and SMU threw for better than 75% in this game, so they didn't actually need a rushing attack. Of course some flanker and wide out screens with yards after the catch are essentially a running game anyway. 31-0 at the half, this one was over early.
But hey... Nevada did manage to score a TD with a minute left to play.
Ohio U. is trying to make a game of it. Starting with a goal line stand to end the first half... they've come back from 21 down. A blocked a punt just led to a FG making it 21-17 in the 3rd quarter... but Marshall --held scoreless in the second half-- hangs on to win it.
So did you go with Pitt's offense or Carolina's defense? Pittsburgh 19North Carolina 17 Final Pitt drove 79 yards in 16 plays burning 8:43 off of the clock to take the lead with 0:56 left. Pitt had 4th & 2 on the UNC 30 with 1:55 to play and the Tarheel D gave away a 1st down with an offsides call. Southern California shuts out Boston College in the second half for a 24-13 win.

UNC's defense gave up that 8+ minute Fourth Quarter drive and allowed Pitt to escape with a narrow win.
