A die is a die...Mighty Warrior wrote:These new dice really sucks...it's a bad idea to create numbered dice for dumbs. I still don't understand this change. A dice is a dice. As a card game, you cannot change the King by the number 13 !!!! Totally disagree with the new change.
But it is shiny, precioussss.... You wouldn't want to little golden rings surrounding those green dice to go away, would you? Twill big red eye is watching you, a few more comments like that and those dice will start been tipped against you.Mighty Warrior wrote:These new dice really sucks...it's a bad idea to create numbered dice for dumbs. When it is a legal issue, they will have to be very careful about what they say publicly.jiminski wrote:If it is temporary that is not so bad.... please talk to us and keep us better informed CC.mandyb wrote:This can't be a last minute thing - surely we should have been informed of the change beforehand. I'm sure, with time, the map makers could make something a lot closer to the original without it causing any copyright problems.
I mean....it's classic! It doesn't even resemble a map anymore; more like some chemistry formula!
Is it seriously going to stay like that or is it just temporary 'till something more suitable is made?

hah you may well be correct but if that is the case even those words would have been good.TheProwler wrote:When it is a legal issue, they will have to be very careful about what they say publicly.jiminski wrote:If it is temporary that is not so bad.... please talk to us and keep us better informed CC.mandyb wrote:This can't be a last minute thing - surely we should have been informed of the change beforehand. I doubt that they don't want to tell us. But I think that their lawyers will want to approve any public statements.

While it may seem petty to him, there are plenty of people in this very large community that obviously don't like the changes. What made it worse was the admin's course of action: to leave a little puny message for us: "oh by the way, we changed the site up a bit. thanks!" and not to have consulted representatives of the community. That's like going to war with a country without asking for the UN's permission XDThe Neon Peon wrote:As was discussed before, LACK DOES NOT WANT TO GO TO COURT, especially over such a petty issue that will still cost him a heck of a lot of money even if he does win. Better to change the site to their wishes rather than give them are better case to work with in case they were serious about copyright infringement.delahoc wrote:Good to see you've finally caught up (at least part way) with the rest of us.spiesr wrote: I just figured it out!
They are tired of someone else making money off of what is nearly identical to a game they won. They made a legal move. Lack a doesn't want to go to court. It doesn't matter weather or not they would win. The site must be made more different from risk so that wont happen.
Nevertheless, my point remains - there was nothing in the changes that were made that Hasbro can lay claim to. The only possible claim is in the gameplay - and that remains in all of the other maps as is.
I think that'd be too much workRecklessB wrote:Hasbro is a big company with a team of lawyers who could sue the shit out of anyone who looks at the cross eyed if they felt like it. Right or wrong doesn't come into play when they could just drag it out in court until the other side yells uncle. You would be incredibly naive to think otherwise. Anyway, be thankful the CC guys didn't just say **** it and shut the whole damn site down.
This list makes me cry..... stand back I might assault someone with my spoilsPepperJack wrote:This is obviously a trying time for the members of the site. To help I've compiled a glossary to ease the transition for everyone.

There will be a revamp in the foundry "soon" for the two maps that have been changed. The current change was a quick-fix made to avoid legal issuesScott-Land wrote:Without going through 60 pages, anyone know if this is a temporary solution- perhaps they are in the process of revamping the map ?

As I thought, a blessing in disguise then. It needed a revamp anyhow and this will only quicken the process. For the love of Zeus, why all the commotion? Get a grip people !The Neon Peon wrote:There will be a revamp in the foundry "soon" for the two maps that have been changed.
