Liberal generally means you're for more market regulation, higher taxes, especially on the rich, and more personal freedoms relating to civil rights. You're liberal on the personal issues, but not on the economic ones, which is known as libertarian.Juan_Bottom wrote:How about this GT, since you're after me. DEFINE for me, what you think a liberal is.
When in America did it become a rule that you have to agree 110% with your party leaders on every issue?
No, yours and Gabon's blockheaded-ness made me want to kill myself, and I gave up on both of you.Juan_Bottom wrote:Besides, I kicked ass in that thread.

The meaning of the word "Liberal" in US politics has through the twisted work of spin-doctors and smarmy political snake-oil salesmen like Obama, come from describing a friend of free enterprise and individual rights, to describing proponents of a weak form of social-democratic collectivism assaulting all moral backbone in society to make it more malleable to the government's Orwellian designs to apply on it its forces of social engineering.oVo wrote:In the last election I found it moronic that the MAVERICK label was intended as a positive "distinction" while being considered a LIBERAL was once again a negative position.
Can a right wing conservative be open minded?
people have been discussing the possiblity that pelosi would be a bit of a counterweight to obama ever since the election and its not unreasonable really. I think because of the nature of his election and the huge amount of fanfare that was going on in his transition period, people have been slow to realize that he doesnt always have the universal support from within the ranks that people tend to believe he does.GabonX wrote:Nobody wants to talk about the dissent towards Obama in the Democratic party? Get used to it folks because more of it is coming via Pelosi, Reid and others.
I'll make sure to keep you all posted
Not sure..maybe he was thinking of this guy:GabonX wrote:lolIz Man wrote:"Oh the horror....."

Damn, I can't post the score. I'm right in the middle of LIBERAL... Did you forget that I already took a similer test to the one offered here? Someone go dig up that thread. Practically identical placement scores.
Order 1 Equality 8 and leaning Libertarian. Just like I said, so you can lick my hairy nutsack.
I hope this teaches you a lesson about labeling people that you don't know or understand. That's what racist do ya know? And maybe a lesson about wasting your own time doing so.
mr. napoleon and myself had a short few post discussion about the above quoted is only primarily used in academic style discussion and debate, making everyones objections to your rather obvious misstep still relevant. IF you choose to be an ideologue thats fine, but know that in terms of the contemporary us political context, your just adding to confusion to label yourself incorrectly.Juan_Bottom wrote:EXACTLY.Napoleon Ier wrote:The meaning of the word "Liberal" in US politics has through the twisted work of spin-doctors and smarmy political snake-oil salesmen like Obama, come from describing a friend of free enterprise and individual rights, to describing proponents of a weak form of social-democratic collectivism assaulting all moral backbone in society to make it more malleable to the government's Orwellian designs to apply on it its forces of social engineering.
Thank-You for saying it. If I do, they just role their eyes.
I AM an actual liberal.
Or you are.got tonkaed wrote:IF you choose to be an ideologue thats fine, but know that in terms of the contemporary us political context, your just adding to confusion to label yourself incorrectly.
Translation (assuming you actually understood all of Nappy's big words, which I find doubtful): "I'm a libertarian, but we're the true liberals, not like those sheeple Obama supporters."Juan_Bottom wrote:EXACTLY.Napoleon Ier wrote:The meaning of the word "Liberal" in US politics has through the twisted work of spin-doctors and smarmy political snake-oil salesmen like Obama, come from describing a friend of free enterprise and individual rights, to describing proponents of a weak form of social-democratic collectivism assaulting all moral backbone in society to make it more malleable to the government's Orwellian designs to apply on it its forces of social engineering.

But this quiz, if you actually know what the questions you were answering meant (which I again find doubtful) would seem to indicate you are a liberal.Juan_Bottom wrote:![]()

Actually, I do find Obama's staunchest supporters to be sheep. If the shoe fits...InkL0sed wrote:Translation (assuming you actually understood all of Nappy's big words, which I find doubtful): "I'm a libertarian, but we're the true liberals, not like those sheeple Obama supporters."
Oh please sir, do not lord your vast knowledge of politics over me! Please sir, explain to me the words "equal" and "fair." If only this test was written at a 6th grade level! Then I could understand it with a little help from mom!InkL0sed wrote:But this quiz, if you actually know what the questions you were answering meant (which I again find doubtful) would seem to indicate you are a liberal.
I conclude that you don't want someone like me to be in the same group as you. You're trying to distance yourself from me. It's some weird political racism is what it is. F-cking Green Party.InkL0sed wrote:I conclude that you don't even know what you believe. No wonder you're getting so defensive about it.
