uhh, how can it sound like something you "would've put in a PM"? either it was or it wasn't. If he makes up a role, and paraphrases that bogus role's background info, it's not a violation of the rules.

That didn't sound like paraphrasing. That was info I would've put in that role, had I included it. Regardless, that's neither here nor there.

Now, the final scene:

Night 5 ~ Cut! Print! That’s a wrap!

A cup of coffee is gently placed in front of one of the diner’s many customers. The waitress has seen this one before. This one liked to come in hardly awake, with deep circles under her eyes. The waitress had thought once or twice to ask about her story, but decided to leave well enough alone. Good thing too, because a few minutes later, a car pulled up roughly in front of the diner window. The passenger-side window rolled down, to reveal the muzzle of a gun. The diners, who were used to drive-bys, as they were a frequent occurrence, ducked into safety. One diner, however, was not native to Carcer City, and she also happened to be the shooters target. The muzzle of the gun ignited in a flash as the bullets peppered the window and despite poor aim, mange to find their destination.

Aimless, The Reporter(Pro-Town Cop), has been lynched!

Their business concluded, the shooter and his companions drive away quickly.

On the other side of town, Daniel Lamb was having a drink of a different kind. Sitting in a bar, he was about to order another round of whiskey when he was grabbed by the back of his shirt and dragged off his barstool. Before he could register what was happening, he found himself in an alleyway. His attacker punched him on the side of his face. Daniel’s vision exploded with stars. He felt himself being placed on a wooden board, big enough to cover his entire body. Confusion was quickly replaced with pain as he felt a nail being hammered through into his hand. His other hand shortly underwent the same procedure. By now, Daniel was completely numb. He felt the board he was nailed to being lifted, getting propped against the wall a few feet away. Now finished, his attack backed away and was soon flanked by three others. Daniel saw that all four wore smiley faced masks, and that all four had weapons drawn. ’Good lord. They’re going to use me for target practice!’

And that was exactly what they did. At once, all four Smileys opened fire, tearing more holes into Daniel’s flesh then Swiss cheese. After he stopped twitching, the Smileys went over and proceeded to douse the board and Daniel’s lifeless body in kerosene. They struck a match and dropped it down the front of Daniel’s shirt. After he was set aflame, the Smileys ran, shrieking with delight.

Alone in his apartment, Carl (Or ‘CJ’, as he was known on the streets) was scared shitless. He had heard the men that called themselves the ‘Babyfaces’ enter what used to be Carl’s gang’s territory. Not anymore. The babyfaces had slaughtered every member of Carl’s gang; except for Carl himself, and he knew they were coming for him. That’s when he heard the knock. ‘Alright!’!, he thought. ‘Pizza’s here!’. Opening the door, Carl got one and only one good look at the overweight man that blocked his way.

‘Enjoy your pizza, bitch! cried the man blocking the door. He pulled out a revolver and proceeded to pistol-whip Carl’s face beyond recognition. Satisfied, the man shot two bullets through Carl’s skull, before walking away.

"Wicked is always mafia"

I thought this was a simple concept? :? I can only name one exception to that.

I swear to you Tonka...when I made the extended roleclaim I wasn't thinking about the rules. The fact that it was a completely made up roleclaim most likely was a reason I didn't think about it being against the rules. Then after I posted it, when I said "oh crap, did I say too much Xen?" that was really me being honest there. I didn't plan the whole thing. I apologize to you and I will want to be more careful about making that mistake again. I have only completed 2 games all the way through.

Ask wicked, she knows I didn't plan the whole thing. I planned a bit of it, but then I simply made a mistake. Unfortunately that peticular mistake won us the game.

I accept you not wanting to play games with me for a while...that's cool.

Actually... I can somewhat see gt's point here. Xen coming back with "that would have gotten you modkilled had we not been in LYLO" did seem to make ML's horse crap smell a bit sweeter. If I didn't already know he was lying scum, it might have fooled me.

Seriously, though, gt, I need to figure out what to say that will make you trust me. ;) That way, the next time you get the urge to lynch me, I'll have a defense. Apparently "I trust you not to screw up" wasn't enough.

Congarts Lion and Wicked! GO Mafia.

BTW, I suggest a rule alteration for the future games. How about only prohibiting quoting (by that I mean word-for-word quoting). Because Lions story was really artistic IMO.

I did put Xen in a difficult position. I do believe he did the right thing though. Above all I believe the mod shouldn't interfere with the game, and by giving an answer that was appropriate regardless of truth, he did just that.

I still don't feel 100% good about winning the way we did, but it has opened my eyes to being really careful about roleclaims. I will certainly be more careful in the future.

So you don't think mafia should fake role claim? Am I understanding that correctly? b/c that's how mafia play!! everyone fake role claims, whether it's lylo or not. Like I say, I see nothing that ML did wrong... Xen OTOH lent credibility to the fake claim, so IMO, if you're going to be offended by anyone, it should be Xen, not ML, but whatever.

Right, but you didn't, so there's nothing wrong with it. You can't fault him for fake paraphrasing a fake role... LMAO!! And paraphrasing roles is allowed, just not direct quoting, right?

Yes and we all know that we should never do that.

Also, I am uncertain about what Xen did. If he left it alone it would have been obvious that ML was mafia, if he did what he did do, well it would suggest that ML was townie but make you wonder why he wasn't just kicked out.

Loosely paraphrasing a role is allowed, yes. I don't consider that a loose paraphrase. All in all, I apologize if what I did ruined what I had hoped to be a good ending to the game. I thought I had made a good decision. I guess not.

Don't blame Xen. It's entirely my fault. I made a mistake. Count this game as a town win. Honest to God it was a mistake on my part, and we shouldn't have won like that. I'm really sorry for ruining the game. I will never make this mistake again. Please let's just forget about this one and move on. :(

It's cool, Xen. This is a game of paranoia; people seize the smallest things they can find to justify their suspicious; anything you post (or even failing to post) can be used as a justification for some theory or another. gt wanted to lynch me, hence he came up with a reason why.

Besides, I can't speak for everyone else, but I thought the game was great.

So did ML directly quote his role PM?

wicked wrote:So did ML directly quote his role PM?

Nope. But what he did wasn't a loose paraphrase either. So, thinking back on it, I guess there wasn't anything wrong. I dunno. It's one of those grey-area things. On one hand, it was a fake role, so no harm done. On the other, it wasn't a loose paraphrase and not doing so is against the rules. Again, I apologize.

PS: Glad to see your old avatar's back.

Actually, he has a thing for vigs. (Hint the whole V avatar.) but if the vig is dead I think he starts rooting for mafia.
