Damn. It just hit me. owenshooter might be back soon. He should be a freestyle article writer. His brain might melt down under editorial control, but he would certainly not produce the run-of-the-mill kind of articles that I write. Hell. Might even get him another ban. But what the hell... let's do a poll!

(Please note: The Elf has zero by way of editorial control of the CC Paper and this poll means Jack Shit.)

Articles are posted on the Newsletter staff forum, where a) the staff get to comment on the articles and b) the leader of each Newsletter section reviews the articles and if he notices any inappropriateness they won't get published.

attitudes like this by a member of the newsletter staff are exactly why it is such a wildly popular publication. most of you just seem to be out of touch with what people that frequent the forums want to read or find interesting or why people even routinely browse for whatever owen has posted for the day. keep up the team building excercises!!

Nope. No bull here. In fact, I think it would be interesting to find a list of good writers who would be willing to write "contrarian" editorials once in awhile. But that is a two-way street isn't it? It means the willingness to work within a structure, agree to some parameters, and follow through with what has been agreed upon. But if that can be agreed to, an editor doesn't have to like a writer at all. Or even agree with the article. As long as it is transparent and fair and is a "true voice."

Also, point in fact I wouldn't say the "news-team" is much of a team at all at this point. It is a new experience here for must of us and not much back-slapping, hand holding, or circle jerking going on at all. Maybe someday, but not today. (Can't wait for the circle jerking... I've never jerked one of those before!)

Anyway, my (and only mine at this point) buck and a half.

My statements on the GD forum are not posted as a newsletter representative, but as an individual.

Besides that, if owenshooter is capable of writing an article that conforms to the newsletter standards, then sure, let him do it. I somehow doubt it will happen, but I like to be surprised positively.

Also, has anyone thought of asking owenshooter, does he even want to write articles for the newsletter???

Natty. That really wasn't the point of this poll/post. At all. It was about the diversity of a community and the role of a newspaper/newsletter.
