A dense blanket of fog tomorrow is forecast to cover the whole of the USA, this fog will also cause all phone lines and internet connections to fail. No Americans will be able to be seen or heard for 24 hours. The United Nations have moved quickly to make January 26th 2010 a world holiday. The rest of the world is encouraged to stay indoors and spend ages on the internet, safe in the knowledge that their forum posts won't be hi jacked by annoying Americans.
No American Political threads will be started on this day and internet speeds are due to be 5 times faster than normal due to this one fact alone. The United Nations predict that someone with a Dial up connection in India will be able to download a dvd in three minutes 15 seconds.

An Indian rice farmer was interviewed and told Reuters that he was going to download a film, even though he was blind.

Psh. We're Americans. We wouldn't let a little thing like massive telecommunications interruptions prevent us from broadcasting how much we fucking hate people from the rest of the world. We'll find a way to tell you that we still don't like you either Ped.

That makes for a dramatic image, but have you ever seen video of these guys waving burning flags? It's kind of sickly hilarious, because the flags are almost always made from synthetic fabric, and thus dollops of burning synthetic fiber fall on bystanders and the guy waving the flag.

It's far safer to just desecrate the symbol while it's on the ground.

a) you spelled ergo wrong
b) I'm not the one shitting on "your flag" so CALM THE f*ck DOWN

besides it's just a colourful piece of cloth/fabric so what do you care what someone does with it? Does it affect your life in any way?

Hmm... I think we have some crossed wires here. I was attempting to be funny (i.e. old person yelling at the kids), not to make some point about burning and/or shitting on flags. Burning the flag does not affect my life in any way.

Although, I suppose I could make the point that the kids in that picture likely do not have jobs, pay taxes, or contribute in any way to society, apart from ensuring that their parents spend a load of money on their behalf, buying them things like cell phones, cars, and video game systems. In other words, I understand the interest for some in burning the flag in effigy, but not this particular group of children. At least, that's what I would have said if I was serious about this whole thing.

I don't. They could be Estonians or Latvians or Russians or any number of other white non-US people. They could be poor Americans whose government has screwed them over the course of their lives. There could be any number of potentially justifiable reasons why they are burning the flag.

They're definitely European.

I've seen that image before. I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that's from an anti-Iraq invasion protest, which means the image is most likely from a Coalition of the Willing nation.

Okay. Then I retract my previous statements beginning with "Although."

Seriously, I really don't care if people burn the flag or not; it's a free speech thing with me. That being said, I still think burning the flag can be done in poor taste or by people who do not understand why they are burning the flag.

Just you wait until the fog comes in tomorrow, and the phone lines go down. We'll be burning American Flags all day tomorrow. And posting threads about Mexican Drug cartels, African Football, Japanese Tuna quotas and the Indonesian bloke who can swallow a watermelon whole.

Don't worry Pedro, not all of us thought today was the 26th.

Although, isn't it already the 26th in Japan?

Also, what's your source on this?

I bet you'd be less bored if you went to other people's computers and brought up Ted Nugent on youtube.
