Fog of War Games:

* Using the game chat to announce where a player's territories and troops may (or may not ;) ) be is NOT against the rules. It may come across as unfair or not in the spirit of the game, but feel free to find strategic applications of this non-rule."

Can somebody tell me WHY this would not be against the rules. WHY HAVE FOG OF WAR if this is not against the rules. I don't get it...I'm in a game right now and because I made a couple of plays without really paying attention (I really shouldn't play this at work) ;) One of my opponents questioned why I was attacking him and proceeded to tell me where everybody was on the board.

Why have a Fog of War option if people are allowed to tell you where your opponents are...I can see two people telling each other what they have themselves, but to say something like, Hey BLUE, you better move up and attack Mexico City because RED has 25 armies there seems against the spirit of For of War.

Well, as you can't see the truth in a players claims this can be used for misdirection. Thus no one can be sure if player A is telling the truth when he reveals player C's troops positioning.

Unfortunately most people that break fog do it when they are in danger and crying for help...

Be sure to adjust the ratings you leave that person.

Use the fog to your advantage instead of complaining about non rules.

You can try to tell your enermy in any situation on how to behave, but as he is your enermy I doubt he'll listen.
