Great. Another speed game lost because I completely forgot I made one. Check my sig, that was one just yesterday. It used to be so nice with chatglove when you could tell a speed game has started because you'd get a "new chat" message.
Now it takes me to realize I've gone down a rank to realize that I had a speed game going =(

put the pipes and shot glasses down before you make more speed games and don't take turns.
This kind of makes me want to join all of your speed games

More like "put down the Quantum Physics book", because I was studying instead of taking my turns. I pride myself in being good at Napoleonic Europe, but I think I've lost more games by deadbeating on that map than games that I lost legitimately.

Yup. From one speed-freak to another, you can get a PM notice.
Then? If you have it set to get an email notice when you get a PM notice, you're almost Golden.
Then?? If you have your comp set to "chime" when you get a new email? Then you are Buddha on the game notification.

Then you get a cellphone for the sole purpose of carrying around you so you can set your computer to send a text message to that phone every time you get an email from CC.

Then you develop a Pavlovian reflex such that every time you get a text on your phone you drop whatever it is you're doing, find an internet connection and log onto CC immediately.

I thought this setting was automatically there unless you disable it? I know that I've never enabled it, but it does this for me. Whenever a speed game starts, I get a nifty little PM informing me of that. Otherwise, I would be in the same boat as AoG.

I know i had to set it to do that and it was not automatic, maybe the default was changed at a certain date from one to the other?

Check this out.
Game 8730197
Completely forget I have a speed game up, miss the first turn. I come back and take the lead DESPITE HIM GOING FIRST AND ME MISSING A TURN
Then, as soon as I take all of France and defend it, I forget I have the speed game again and lose. Lose 34 points.
I need a text message, not a PM

The notification sucks bad, unless its just me I make speed games and go to live chat, announce and head to my games waiting for it. Usually we are in rd 2+ before I get a notification (both email and pm). My issue is my daughter spazzing out and me forgetting I was playing a game, creating 2 headaches..

Is writing a college application essay much more important too? I hope so, because I lost an easy win against a clanmate =(

As said clan mate I want to make it clear that I was much more interested in crushing AoG than the piddling 14 points the deadbeat gave me
