For those of you addicted to Doodle Earth, this simple tournament is for you. "A Little Bit of Doodling" will challenge 16 players not only in 1v1 games, but also in 4-player Standard and assassin games. Along with getting some more practice on Doodle, I am also testing a scoring system that I may use in future tournaments. Please consider joining! Thanks!
The 16 spots in the tournament are all taken; I am now accepting reserves!
I ask all players to join tournament games within 72 hours, please (that should be plenty of time)! If you should need additional time, I will allow it if you notify me. If a player does not join, they will be replaced by a reserve.
Each player will be guaranteed 5 games, to be played in the following order:
Therefore, the maximum number of points a player can earn in the group is 12 points. The 1v1 games account for 6 of the 12 points (50%), and the other two 4-player games account for the other 6 (50%) of the points.
Upon joining, each player will be randomly assigned, using random.org, into 1 of 4 groups. In the group the player is assigned to, the player is also assigned a random number, #1 through #4. Once all 16 players have joined, there are 4 groups of 4 players each.
Stage I
The 3 phases shall take place in the following order.
The Standard Phase
The four players in each group will play in one, 4-player Standard game on Doodle Earth using the Universal Settings. The winner of the game earns 3 points.
The 1v1 Phase
As previously mentioned, in each group there is a #1, #2, #3, and #4 player (randomly assigned upon joining). Players will play in 2-player games on the Doodle Earth map with the Universal Settings.
Players will face off in this fashion:
The Assassin Phase
The four players in each group will play in one, 4-player Assassin game on Doodle Earth using the Universal Settings. The winner of the game earns 3 points.
After all 3 phases, the 2 players in each group with the most points advance to the next stage of the tournament.
After all 3 phases, the 2 players that are ranked the highest (the 2 players with the most points; tiebreakers applied if necessary) in each group advance. The rest of the players are eliminated from the tournament. Therefore, 8 players advance, and 8 are eliminated.
The player with the most number of points after Stage III is proclaimed the winner of the tournament and the Most Daring Doodler.

Tiebreaker System
In the event that 2 players have the same number of points, then the 2 players will fight in a 1v1 Tiebreaker Match on Doodle Earth with the Universal Settings. The winner of the tiebreaker game is ranked higher than the loser of the game.
In the event that more than 2 players have the same number of points, then a Standard game shall be created in which only the tied players face each other. The winner of the game is ranked highest. The player that placed in second place is ranked next highest. The player that placed in third place is ranked next highest, etc. See Example I.
Example I: Charles, Billy Ray, and Henry each have 4 points after all 3 phases. Therefore, they play in a 3-player Standard tiebreaker game on Doodle Earth with the Universal Settings. Billy Ray wins the game, so he is ranked highest. Charles gets second place, so he is ranked next highest. Henry gets third place, so he is ranked lowest of all three players.
