Based on the avi you have now I'm not sure we wanna see anything that moves
Personally I just did a .gif search. I'm more or less computer illiterate but I figured this one out!

I think it has to be the right size, and anything over the limit won't be animated. Let me know if you want help scaling it down or otherwise.

Also, try to copy the working gof to your own computere. And should that fail, just goto browse but add the full link name. the working gif picture is still stored somewhere on your computer so it will work now. i think.

well the working gif was on my own computer for the duration of its life (it was homemade) and i've tried multiple times with no success, however i've just had a shot of insight... and will have to try something before coming back

okay so i'm still having trouble, the image you see as my avi (black and white and says the fissk) works on my computer (it flashes a series of bright colors) however it upload it here and it is as you can see quite still. i've tested with an image i found online and it works. the only differences that i can tell between these images is mine is 640x512 while the one i got online is 50x50. the image fits well under the size limits (69.2 kb) so whats my trouble?

if animated avatars are more than 100*100px then the forum resizes and display only the first frame.
so simply resize your animated avatar from 640*512 to 100*80 (to preserve the aspect ratio) and everything will work just fine.
