It's interesting how the site has only ever once done any pub or hype for a new feature (speed games), and I guess the wee backlash was enough to end the practice entirely.

You missed out. I was one of the lucky few that actually got to test the games (and the new ajax interface) before they went live, it was like upgrading from a Model T to a Ferrari 250. Good times. Sorta thing that makes me wonder what ole' wicked is up to these days, since she was one of the point people in the testing.
