You will represent a fringe squad player for either England or Australia, and you must earn the right to be called up to the first team to participate in the prestigious Ashes series. Choose your cricketer on signup, or you will be assigned a random one. If anyone comes up with another valid
fringe cricketer, I will consider allowing it.
Games will be 2v2 doubles.
England:
Joe Root - Clive, comet1612 - Nuclear, adj, fog, trench
Jonny Bairstow - Wizz00, Robert the red - no spoils, chained, fog, trench
Boyd Rankin - iAmCaffeine, spudulica - no spoils, chained, fog, trench
Graham Onions - Edgron, Gifton - esc, chained, sunny, no trench
Australia:
Usman Khawaja - bahrain, Lockup - esc, chained, fog, no trench
James Pattinson - Blitzkrieg Frank, loutil - no spoils, chained, fog, no trench
David Warner - adam666, nicho - esc, chained, fog, no trench
James Faulkner - Stuboy, Lapdog - no spoils, chained, no fog, no trench
Round one: You will play a double round robin against your 3 countrymen. England group games will be played on the England map. Australia group games will be played on the Australia map. The remaining settings will be chosen by the team - 3 games on your settings, 3 games on the opponents settings. Freestyle and manual will not be an option. In the case of a tie for top spot, first head to head record will be considered, if this is also tied, a single round robin will be played between the tied teams, with your country's map and random settings, until there is one winner.
Round two: Group winners will play a 5 test series against each other to determine the tournament winners. Each test will involves 2 innings (home games) for each team. Map and settings will be chosen for each innings, and a different map is to be used for each home innings, which is 10 different maps in total. Remaining settings may be chosen freely, with the exception that freestyle and manual are not allowed.
You must win 3 of the games to win a test. A result of 2-2 means the test is a draw. The team that wins the most tests over the 5 test series is the winner.
It is possible for the enitre series to be drawn, in which case a tiebreak game will be played on England with random settings.
Please specify your home settings for round one on signup - As only 2 teams will make it to round two, those settings will be chosen later.

I thought about forcing round 2 to appropriate maps (cricket, classic london, etc), but I thought the tournament would be less likely to fill if I did that.

Broad edges a ball to 1st slip on a pitch with little spin. Well Mr Umpire how the hell did it get there if it didn't hit the edge. Us Aussies not blaming Broad but seriously that Umpire so blattantly obvious that edge we could hear it all the way back in OZ!!!!!!! Bring on LORDS about time they dumped Cowan and Starc too.

You got Trott on a freebie and i'd rather have him batting than Broad!
But yeah Cowan has to go, he's useless. Agar in at 3

Starc isnt much cop either. Big Tim to replace Finn for England

Agar also should have gone early on in his 98 innings.
You can blame Clarke for wasting your reviews... The fielding team reviewing an LBW is almost never justified imo.

Yep clarke has no idea how to use the reviews. But what a run of bad luck now rain will almost make certain the 3rd test a draw.

LOL and now a batting collapse to cost 4th test. Unreal. We had 1st test if no lunch break we would have made those last few runs, 2nd test we were smashed, 3rd test rain stopped the win, 4th test middle order choked. Score should be Aussie's 3 Poms 1 but alas Poms 3 Aussies 0. Well u did have the better team from the start. Why the hell did we pick 5 openers for has me stuffed and swapping the batting order every innings is rubbish too.

James Pattinson has won the Australia group, and Joe Root has reached an unassailable lead in the England group. Now time for the Ashes :D

First Test has gone to the aussies, who have also demanded a cool down period to recover from exhaustion. Second Test will start in a couple weeks.
