Having undergone initial spy training (in Chapter I), become a key man in the preparation for the revolution (Chapter II), made a major contribution to the Revolution (Chapter III) and supported the Chinese Revolution(Chapter IV), you have enjoyed a peaceful period, training other operatives as the Soviet Republic has become established.
However, as the Soviet Republic has flourished, so has Hitler and his fascism is on the rise. He has managed to gain control of Austria and Czechoslovakia with impunity from the capitalist nations of Eurtope. The USA are equally willing to abandon their 'principles' in their unwillingness to act. s
With potential allies, including even the US, preparing for war, now is the time to begin offensives to push Hitler back and reclaim lands under fascist rule for the people.
With the Chinese Revolution still, as yet, incomplete, the dark beourgeois empire of Japan are attempting to profit from the chaos caused by Hitler, threatening to overthrow China, and even threatening the power of the Soviet Union and the US in an attempt to create fascist global domination in alliance with Hitler and Mussolini, the Italian with Imperialist ambitions.
As the Axis of evil rises, and military counteraction commences, you are presented with a new series of missions ....
Evolving Storyline
Russian Spy (Chapter V)
Whilst returning from the city centre by bus, a number of individuals bump into you on the crowded bus.
This seems insignificant until you arrive home and find a memo in your jacket pocket:
"Hitler's secret plans have been leaked - he is preparing offensives to invade both Poland and France.
Whilst the great People's Nation are preparing forces to prevent Germany from advancing to the East, right-wing political elements in the UK and France are quelling fears of the rise of Hitler's fascism and preventing these potential allies acting against Germany.
Right-wing targets in the UK and France have been identified
Further details of your targets' whereabouts will follow.
Bring them down and aid the People's fight against Fascism.
Agents succesful in either of these intial missions will be consripted for the second stage of our plan.
This memo must be destroyed without delay, and don't forget, even in wartime, we are bound by 'The International League of Nations' Honour in War Agreement', specifically the 'Fog of War Courtesy Agreement'."
Upon returning to your hotel room, you see steam emanating from the bathroom.
When you enter, a message has been inscribed in the ceiling-to-floor mirror's steam:
"Despite your difficulties in previous missions, you have two further chances to prove your worth and elimiate targets who are conspiring within the political spheres of potential allies, against the rise of Hitler's Fascism.
Further right-wing targets in the UK have been identified, as well as targets in Australia.
Further details of your targets' whereabouts, and airline tickets, will follow.
Bring them down and aid the People's fight against Fascism.
Agents succesful in either of these additional missions will be consripted for the second stage of our plan.

You go to your safety deposit box at your local railway station and find a new memo:
"Comrade, Hitler is attempting to take control of both Poland and Czechoslovakia as he moves on to the next stage of his plan.
Your skill are reuquired in the battlefield to infiltrate the Third Reich and destabilize from within.
Key german targets have been identified
Further details of your targets' whereabouts will follow.
Bring them down and aid the People's fight against Fascism.
Agents succesful in either of these missions will be consripted for the next stage of our plan.
This memo must be destroyed without delay."

You find a message scrawled on the back of your train ticket:
"Comrade, Hitler we have identified further targets we need to eliminate to infiltrate the Third Reich and destabilize Hitler's control of Czechoslovakia and Poland.

Upon returning to your hotel room, you notice the curtains are open.
A message has been written in the condensation on the windows:
"Despite our success in previous missions, Hitler has made further advances as the British have been slow to act, and the Americans even slower. The people's army are now conscripting recruits to defend our own territories.
Your skills are required to destabilize the advancing Nazi forces so that we can push them back.
This is a vital moment in the war.
Further details of your Nazi military targets' whereabouts will follow.
Bring them down and aid the People's fight against Fascism.
The most succesful agent will receive great honour and recognition.
This memo must be wiped clear without delay."
The tournament follows an ‘evolving storyline’ format. It is open to all players with a decent attendance record.

Mission will take place on maps to be revealed through a secret message system as the storyline evolves …
Matches will be Assassin, Sequential, Automatic, No Trench and with No Round Limit.
As the world of espionage is unpredictable and secretive, missions will also involve Flat Rate Spoils, Adjacent Reinforcements and Fog of War.

There will be 20 comrades.
Comrades must have a 97% attendance record, have played a minimum 25 matches, and not have dropped out from one of my tournaments previously! Freemium comrades must keep two slots available at all times.
Comrades will have 24 hours to join their matches from when the joining PM is sent. Failure to do so will result in a reserve being sought (harsh, I know).

Comrades will be allocated to (four) groups for missions according to random.org. Initially, comrades will be given two missions. Succesful comrades will progress to Phase Two of The Plan. Unsuccesful comrades will be allocated to two groups and given further mission(s) so that 12 agents progress to Phase Two of The Plan.
In Phase Two, comrades will again be allocated to (two) groups for missions according to random.org. Comrades will again be given two missions. Succesful comrades will progress to the Final Phase of The Plan. Unsuccesful comrades will be grouped together and given further mission(s) so that six agents progress to the Final Phase of The Plan.
In the Final Phase of The Plan, comrades will be given three missions. If an outstanding agent is identified (s)he will be nominated the official Russian Spy.
If a team of three equally succesful comrades are identified, they will be given a further, highly dangerous mission, with the most succesful comrade being nominated the official Russian Spy.
In Phase Two, comrades will again be allocated to (two) groups for missions according to random.org. Comrades will again be given two missions. Comrades will be informed when they have a match and will have 24 hours to join. If they fail to do so then they will be ejected from the tournament and a reserve will replace them.

Comrades must inform the tournament organiser if they have a regular partner or opponent that is also featuring in the tournament. The organizer can then, wherever possible, ensure these comrades do not play together to avoid any potential claims of foul play by other players.
If reports of suspected foul play are made and the comrades in question have not declared that they are regular partners / opponents then they will be both be ejected from the tournament without question or the need for irrefutable evidence.
