What are the points rank ratio of the ranks in CC I know higher ranks mean higher points but how many points by rank

Losers Points / Winners Points * 20
But how are points determined?

Newby here. Yes the instructions indicate how winners score off losers, but it doesn't say how that points total is arrived at in the first place. Can someone please explain how you gain (or lose?) points - is it based on the number of territories held or lost, continents, armies lost or conquered, etc? What goes into that factor of loser points/winner points *20?

It's just the amount of points of the players at the moment the game is finished. So for example you have 1000 and I have 2097 now. I you lose I get (1000/2097)*20 = 10 points.
If I lose you get (2097/1000)*20 = 42 points
