I agree, the problem is we are still stuck with the current size requirements. As far as I know getting to make maps larger than 840x800 requires a policy change from lack.Bigfalcon65 wrote:hey with the new 8 player games we really need some bigger maps, please answer ym call please please
This one i think paticually will make an excellent 8 player map.Sven Hassel wrote:don't forget qwert's WWII: Europe
I agree but we have serious size issues. The only solution I can think of right now is making the small version hideous but functional.gimil wrote:This one i think particularly will make an excellent 8 player map.Sven Hassel wrote:don't forget qwert's WWII: Europe
If i remeber corretly the size restriction discussion was going to be taken back into consideration ONCE 8 player games where introduced. Im pritty sure it was andy himself that said that.Coleman wrote:I agree but we have serious size issues. The way I'd do it is army circles and names only with the legend. Cut everything else out. Then make the large version as good as possible within the guidelines. Unless I can persuade the higher ups to allow more maps that break the current size restrictions.

yes but it doesnt hurt to kick start the discussion again. I dont believe that reworking the interface but changing the resolution that hte site works best would be sufficient.AndyDufresne wrote:Indeed, but I also said most likely that it' all not going to happen until Lack can rework the interface to allow for more gameboard space.

I don't either. As long as we have some way that people will know they would need to scroll (even info pages would be good for this, we could make it an orange feature) I don't see the issue.DiM wrote:i don't understand the fear of scrolling. so what if a map is 2000*2000? scroll everywhere
Its a matter of preference. I dont mind a little scrolling as long as its not to extreame. Im sure lack has the idea that the less scrolling the more people he can keep happy. Thats just democracy for yaDiM wrote:i don't understand the fear of scrolling. so what if a map is 2000*2000? scroll everywhere
resonable scolling isnt a porblem, but having a 2000x2000 map would be a little adsurb. The chances of missing something in a map would be greater. Remember not everyone is as observant and well educated as yourselfDiM wrote:wtf i scroll all the time. when i receive my books for school i have to scroll through hundreds of pages. should i tell the teacher i didn't study cause it was too much scrolling?
when i come to the forums to post i scroll a lot.
heck even when i start a game i have to scroll to get to the start button.
if they aren't paying attention then they don't have to play that map. it could even be in a separate category. insanely HUGE maps. warn people that they will scroll at their own risk. nobody is forcing you to play a map you don't like.gimil wrote:resonable scolling isnt a porblem, but having a 2000x2000 map would be a little adsurb. i dont really think the foundry asks for much, the only thing i recall that the foundry really wants is a moderate size increase.AndyDufresne wrote:Insanely huge maps probably won't make it. Don't push your luck...ask for too many presents and none may come at all!

In that case, mine map can be quenched these moment, because you can see all map and attack buton without scrolling.Scrolling - This map is larger then the standard 630x600 small and 840x800 large dimensions so some scrolling may be required to view the entire map depending on your resolution.
yes but you must be using a higher resolution than the CC recommended.qwert wrote:In that case, mine map can be quenched these moment, because you can see all map and attack buton without scrolling.Scrolling - This map is larger then the standard 630x600 small and 840x800 large dimensions so some scrolling may be required to view the entire map depending on your resolution.
