I've got 3 exams coming this week and I've been studying for it since early May. However, I don't seem to get the info into my brain. Does anyone know any strategies I could use?

Make up a test or two on the subject material. Not only will going through it help you localize important things that might be on the test, it requires you to go through all the material with a bit of depth. Try that out.

If you can get them, do past papers with reference to the mark scheme. You get to know what kind of questions come up, as well as see how you should be doing it, and that you've written the stuff down makes you more likely to remember it.

Well here are some tricks to make your brain memorize a study better.
-drink lots of water
- food that helps your brain are blueberries, tuna, and nuts.
- DON"T eat/drink anything with sugur since it sort of impairs your brain activity.
Once you follow these tips you'll find it easier to study.

ty everyone! your help is appreciated...
and nagerous, I cannot get out of CC because I'm involved in a build-up game with oggiss (since April). I think he'll be pretty disappointed if the game ends so fast (it's only up to about the 200th round right now)

Joodoo, you need to do what I do. When I am studying, I use the information and I make up little stupid stories. It is easier to remember that way. The stranger and more shocking the story, the easier it will be to remember.
For example, you might want to remember that Christopher Columbus landed in America on October 21, 1492. So you would make up a weird story to remember this little fact:
My brother
Christopher moved to
Columbus (
that would help you remember the name), Ohio in
America (
would help you remember the country) back in
October (
that would help you remember the month). He was
21 years old (
would help you remember the day) and already had three little ugly retarded kids:
14, 9, and 2 years old (
that would help you remember the year).
It is easier for us to remember strange stories easier than just straight on information. So try making up weird stories ABOUT the information you are trying to remember.
Does that make sense?

Bribe yourself!
Say if I remember such and such or complete this amount of revision then I will allow myself to eat that big chocolate bar!
Only problem is I frequently find I eat the chocolate regardless of whether or not I have done the work...

For memorization, put facts on note cards and keep them with you. Make a habit of going through them whenever you get the chance (waiting in lines, eating a quick bite, etc.)
For longer type "understanding" questions, read the book/tesxt through once.
Ask yourself if you understood it. If not, go back and write down EVERY term you did not understand. For science, in particular, you may find lots and lots of words you have just never seen. I am so used to just understanding what I read from context, that it never occured to me I was not really understanding my specialized biology text. (had a LOT of specific names for animal body parts, etc.) A tutor made me write down word I had not seen before. Suddenly I saw that I had almost every other word on one page circled. AND, I realized there was a good reason why I wasn't "getting" the material ... I had not taken the time to understand the words!
In Science, just understanding and remembering are "enough".
For English, social sciences and History, you need to not just be able to understand the words, but the why and wherefore behind them.
English -- read through. DON'T try to "pick it apart" until you understand what is written. In many cases that will be once ... in other cases, it might take a few go-throughs. THEN, look at the types of things your instructor asks and discusses. Analyze the text using his questions, classroom discussions as a guide. It can definitely help to have a study group, if you can get together with some students who are a bit better than you (hopefully). In this definitely do not discount foreign students who might not seem to speak all that well, but who might well grasp the points pretty well ... perhaps better than you.
History -- memorize dates and names, just like science vocabulary (cards help). Read the material more like English the first time or two ... that is, try to just "enjoy", understand what is being said. THEN criticize/question/debate. Again, use the things your instructor says in class as a guide whenever possible.
Other types of classes tend to fall into the above categories, with the exception of lab/activity type classes. Those its "do what is required" ... period.

And remember, every person studies differently; what style someone uses to get a hundred, might make you barely pass, so experiment until you get the one that's good for you.

Watch a whole load of porn, then draw pictures of the porn you watched with little captions that are salient facts about the work you're supposed to be revising. You'll never be able to put the revision cards down, and you'll learn all the facts in no time.
Even if it doesn't work, then you will at least have had the opportunity to watch several hours of pornography.

I realized that it doesn't matter if you get an A or a C. Stop studying and relax. Have fun. Once you realize it doesn't matter if you fail, it is soooooo much easier to succeed.

Tell you opponents you have exams and take your one turn within 24 hours... possibly 2 ... and after school is out, then you can play as usual.

Study tip
figure out what sort of rememberer you are.
I like to draw "mind maps" - they work for me. Not for everyone. Other people do lists, or highlighting key facts in thier notes. Mnemonics of various types (whether they be rhymes, acrostics, images or stories) can help with concrete facts. I will never forget the Spanish for rice because I have a mental image of an arrow in a bowl of rice planted there by a guy talking about how images help you remember.
Some people find that reading the study text over and over sends them to sleep, others find that it fixes the facts.
Most people find that summarizinfg the key facts, either in note form or by some sort of voice recording, helps tons. Even if you never listen to the recording or read the notes again.
