What is the most stupid sport in the world? Apart from gridiron, obviously, which is so fucking stupid it is overqualified for this thread.

I hate horse racing - 'ooh let's see how fast a big animal can run with a midget on its back. Oh look, it's fallen over, let's shoot it in the head and sell it to a French butcher. Or we could just flog it and make another sports thread.'

Lawn bowls is pretty good, indoor bowls is better imo, but lawn bowls is still pretty good. Better than 10 pin anyway.

Are we talking to play or watch anyway? Pretty much all sport is interesting if you understand it. Even the world tiddly winks chapionship is worthy of a couple of beers and some pringles. So I'd say something like TV Bird Spotting (real phenomenon where people spot birds on TV shows)...

Or synchronised swimming.

Any sport can be fun to participate in, although some necessitate large amounts of beer and/or pot to completely appreciate. Watching sports, however, is downright stoopid, and is fit only for jocksniffing couch potatoes.

It is war, not sport!

Any racing sport can hardly qualify as a sport. Getting from point A to point B, no matter what obstacles are thrown in your way, just has no interest to me. The only reason I wouldn't say horse racing is that betting at the track at least holds a little interest. I'd vote NASCAR as the stupidest sport ever created, as the unbearable length of individual races completely destroys the fun of betting. I suppose this mostly an American phenomenon, but it still is the worst sport ever.

Nascar sucks, I could drive round in a circle for as long as I live.

I can understand why you'd have no interest in them, but can you truly think that running the marathon is not a sport? What about other running, or swimming races? What about the Tour de France? Or mountain biking?

Or did you only mean motorized racing?

I'd agree with you about motorized racing, but not for track, cycle, or swimming events.

The difference between motorised and physical racing though is one is mainly skill and technique and the other is mainly strength and stamina. At the end of the day, nothing makes either better than the other as they draw from different traits.

I'd vote any motor car racing that involves going round an oval. Setting a car up to go round in circles isn't rocket science.
