We do have Dr. Pepper, but we don't have Mountain Dew

I think he must be thinking of Mr.Pibb. I live in his city and DrPepper is available in most stores and KFC/taco bell.
It's bottled by pepsi here so it's possible he just doesn't like the local variety but I have not noticed a difference when I've travelled.

The mountain dew here is caffiene free because there used to be some sort of law that you couldn't put caffiene in soft drinks unless they were brown.

Oh they do, but it's not like when I lived in Texas and it was easier to get Dr. Pepper than it was Coke.

I think everyone in the UK should receive a free FANTA since the Spice Girls had to cancel their reunion tour earlier this year.
