Bush Says Evolution and Creationism Not Incompatible

Just in time for another round of the "War on Christmas," President George W. Bush has given an interview with ABC in which he discusses his views on the role God plays in his own life and in geopolitical events, in general. While Bush declines to state that "the Almighty" selected him personally for the job of president, he does believe he communicates with God via prayer. To those who have followed Bush's views on faith, this will come as no surprise. The president, after all, famously revealed that in one such prayer session, God seemed to give him the green light to invade Iraq. What may ruffle religious feathers, however, is Bush's view that the Bible is "probably not" to be taken literally. And that evolution is in no way incompatible with the teachings of Christianity. That last point will cause some head-scratching. Isn't this the same president, after all, who advocated the teaching of "intelligent design" in public schools? Watch:
Awww crap.

Heh, I read a transcript of that interview on another site. Bush is not very good at expressing things, is he?

Things bush is not very good at
1. Expressing himself.
additions to the list welcome.

That might be a lengthy list. He is "just a simple president" after all.

Things that have nothing to do with the game "Guess Who."

2. Speaking English in general.
My sister gave me a "Quote a day" calendar of "Bushisms" last Christmas.
Let that sink in a moment. He has made enough VERY asinine gaffes and blunders to fill an entire calendar full of quotes.
...and it was an 18 month Calendar.

Saying things like "the Bible is not to be taken literaly" is just a fancy way of saying "it's bullsh*t and I know it too, but I'm not giving it up," Isn't it?

Did you guys know about the "special clock" that's in the whitehouse? I'm guessing not. This clock actually records every lie that the acting president has preformed. For every lie, 1 second passes on the clock. George Washington had his clock move ahead only the 1 second. Abraham Lincoln had his clock move only 3 seconds. When asked about George W. Bush's clock, an inside advisor of the whitehouse replied that Bush uses his clock as a ceiling fan.

LOL
I agree with you entirely! Either say you believe what's in the Bible or say you don't, it can't be both. I can respect someone who doesn't believe a word in the bible and I have more respect for a fundamentalist christian than one who tells me that just because the bible
says the earth was made in 7 days doesn't
mean that. Take a stance damn it!

I don't know, I think believing that the bible may have been written simply and figuratively so the more ignorant could understand it in the early days of Christianity (and in the earlier texts it derives from) is as legitimate a standpoint as believing every word to the letter. Saying that is like saying agnostics are atheists who can't hold their own opinion.
But a topic for another thread maybe.

7 Godly days, not human ones ... but again, its been covered in other threads. And,
fundamentalist Christians are the ones who think it was made in 7 days.

We are talking about primitive Bronze Age people here. They were all ignorant.

Really? I just heard it from Doyle Brunson a couple months ago. I thought it was hilarious. A matter of fact, I still laugh about it.
