Is CC stable?

I bought my premium in June, and am just wondering if CC will still be here by then. We all know what happened with the classic map and other "legal actions" and now in doing my due diligence on this site for my $25 investment, I find this:

http://www.salamandersoftware.ca/

The fact that the parent company seems to be gone is worrisome.

I don;t believe this is construed as personal info, but if it is, I apologize in advance.

You were correct when you said 'no'.

www.salamandersoftware.ca was formed in 2002, is Montreal based, and does CC

www.salamndersoftware.net.nz was formed in 1999, is based in New Zealand, and produces poker machines

Now I don't know about you, but when I read this on the latter's front page:
Salamander Systems Limited was formed in 1999 to provide systems and training solutions primarily for the gaming and hospitality industries.
Essentially we develop and provide software systems or services to replace time-consuming and paper-intensive manual systems. These tools are designed to make our customers' life easier and their business more profitable.
...I certainly didn't think of arcade machines.
It's also by no means the only thing they do. Take a look on their products page.

And, being the older company, it would make sense to cry foul when they discovered the latter company.
Copyright is a fickle business.

Perhaps if you'd read on, rather than pick out the bits that suited your idea...
NZ Wesbite -> Product Information wrote: # Gaming Operations – Attendance and management courses – HSI/NZQA unit standards

# Triplicate Unpaid Prize Reports
# Gaming Compliance checks

# Customised Software Development
# CCTV Systems/Alarms
# Gaming Stools (with option of embroidered logo).
# Call Attendant Programme

The bits in bold are to do with the gaming (ie poker machine) industry. There is no mention of Kamchatka, broken dice, or multis.

Unless of course you're insinuating that a NZ company took legal action against a Canadian company of the same name because the were using a map that was similar to one developed by Hasbro, a third company that has nothing to do with the first. :?

I would just like some clarification. After B. Madouf ran off with $.65 of my money, I want to know where my $25 might go, and if I can expect 12 months of playing out of it.

Since the question is posed in a forum paid for, created, designed, hosted and maintained by the folks "under suspicion" I suggest Mr. Bretlipp that you wonder why you asked.

Who the BLEEP cares if you can or cannot find a page for Salamander?

Who really cares?

What matters is that I can and will kick your ass anytime, anywhere.

That goes on and that always is true.

So, on balance, not meaning to put you down, but your question, this thread, is for dumbshits.

Thank you for your hyper-intelligent post. I will type slowly since I know you probably can't read too quickly....

1) It is relevant, since THAT is who the money goes to. Just like the discussions on letting one of the big 3 auto companies go into bankruptcy, it was perceived no one would purchase a vehicle if the parent company might liquidate. Look at any Circuit City ad from the last few months...after their bankruptcy filing every ad has a letter from the CEO in it, to sway people that it is still a safe place to shop.

2) As a purchaser of services, if the company that holds the copyright of this site no longer exists, then this site may fall by the wayside. Who is paying to host this site....Salamander. It is basic logic.

3) My question isn't to wish harm on Salamander, it is simply to determine if for $25, I will get 12 months of games or 12 hours of games. Pretty reasonable.

4) Now for instance, let's say you actually had a bank account with money in it. But when you go to log on the website for your bank, it says "nothing to see here". Would you a) be concerned or b) say all those people lining up to get their money from the Bank are "dumbshits".

5) An internet fight!! Wow, I didn't know people still did this!! Ok here goes: Bring it on. Just want to let you know that I am 6 foot 5, 320 lbs, 4% body fat and trained in tae kwon do and knife fighting. I will come to your house, kick your ass, kick your family's asses, and let the air out of your house's tires for even thinking you can stand up to me. Then I will make you rape your sister, because she deserves it, but is wayyy too ugly for me.

6) Wow, now I know why internet fights and threats went out of style in 1998.

I've heard a rumor that Lack perhaps took down those sites do to someone posting personal images of himself and a friend, so Lack took the sites down to protect his friend. It's just a rumor, not quite confirmed, not that it really matters and doesn't change the price of tea in China.

a) All the competitors are crap. Really, they are, I've looked.
b) I don't think CC is going under. I could always be wrong though
