I'm sure everyone has already seen the news about Osama's new video where he is spitting out more of his non-sense.

Which made me wonder, is Osama the ultimate Internet/video tough guy? I mean he sits in some cave or where ever he is hiding now and just talks shit. How is he any different than the 10 year old who comes on the internet and talks about "kicking your ass". And how is he going to put down the US economy or the future of the US? How about the Taliban/Al Qaeda? They got their country taken from them, their funding got cut off, and their leader is hiding! At least Obama is out in the open, working with governments, doing the best he can to fix the problems. At least he's not hiding out in the white house, scared to come out in the open.

And here is another question I would love to ask Osama, if he is such a proponent of martyrdom, why doesn't he sacrifice himself? Last time I checked, there is a $25mm reward for anyone who catches him. So why doesn't he have one of his people turn him in, so that they can take that money and fund their "cause".

How can anyone take this guy seriously? Even his own people. Even if I was one of his supporters, if I saw that message, I would be like dude, you're fuckin hiding out...stop talking shit.

My solution: We need to create a video utilizing one of our own CC internet tough guys / trolls and have them send Osama a message about how he is going to kick Osama's ass.

I see your point, but, to respond to the video with further action, with the way he's hidden and the guerilla warfare they specialise in, just avoiding death is a victory for them.

As for Martyrdom, if an organisation which promotes this meant the leader kept blowing himself up, there would be no sense of structure. Plus, in terms of money, they do get funding easily via drugs and other petty crimes - enough to fund their aims.

But yea, there is no point in taking it too seriously - sure there is a big threat and we need to make sure a 9/11 or 7/7 doesn't happen again, but it's just rhetoric.

Making noise about Hamas and the destruction in Israel and the Gaza Strip isn't too surprising...
but I'm sure his intention is also just letting the world know he's still there.

The difference is... among other things, he arranged to have commercial aircraft hijacked and flown into the World Trade Center and the Pentagon six years ago... and did kick major ass. The effects of those actions is being felt in the US economy and the rest of the world as the "War on Terror" has cost more than a trillion dollars in Iraq alone. Which means there are less funds and other resources available to deal with the natural disasters on the Gulf Coast... rebuilding New Orleans, bailing out Wall Street bankers, bailing out the Big Industry, dealing with tight credit, construction decline, record foreclosure rates and unemployment in America.

The Taliban is still fighting in Afganistan and Al Qaeda is a global movement and has no single country of origin. Bin Laden has declared war and repeatedly attacked the most powerful nation the world with the only means he has available to him, guerilla warfare and terrorism. His simple existance may be considered defience enough to his loyal followers... being the "most wanted" fugitive on the planet doesn't make it a simple task for him to flaunt his continued survival.

Actually, as president elect, Barack Obama isn't in the White House at all... and still has an enormous network of security and secret service monitoring his every move.

I believe his choices in recent years speak for themselves and his "life" has been sacrificed for his cause.

I'm sure everyone hunting Osama bin Laden is amazed that even with the enormous bounty on his head, he has still eluded capture. Do you seriously think turning him in to collect the reward is a good tactic for Al Qaeda, who somehow manage to have all the funds they require to continue their operations.

Seems there has been no shortage of internet bs on this subject since 9/11/2001, but maybe if some CC tough guys go after him (or he reads this troll) Osama bin Laden will finally lose hope and surrender.

Well as you have taken the time to disect my posting, let me return the favor.

I agree a small part of his video is to let the world know he's still alive but I think it's more about getting the chance to show his support for the anti-israel movement and a very small small part to show the world that he still looks like a donkey.

This I strongly disagree with. Let me explain:

1- He wasn't the mastermind of 9/11, he was just the donkey they put up as their spokesmen. The mastermind of 9/11 is Khalid Shaikh Mohammed who is now sitting Guantanamo Bay who is getting a major ass kicking in return.

2- The problems in the US economy have nothing to do with 9/11. That was a tragic event that happened and the economy did suffer a little but I think the biggest tragedy was the enormous amount of lives lost. And to me flying planes into a building full innocent people isn't "kicking major ass", it's being a coward. That's like me walking up to someone and sucker punching them and saying I just kicked your ass. And back to the US economy, the problems we are facing today have to do with the Mortgage market crashing, which would have happened with or without 9/11. It was a bubble that was bound to burst. Also, the problems escalated by the fact that during the high times, people were taking on more credit than they could handle and once the market crashed, they realized how much debt they were in and stopped spending as the banks stopped lending, a deadly combination...and consumer spending accounts for 2/3 of US economy. Anyway, kind of side tracked but 9/11 had nothing to do with the economic state today.

3- I wouldn't give Osama credit for Iraq war rather put that trillion debt right up Bushes ass. That war was more because of his lack of knowledge and him being an idiot and his lies about "weapons of mass destrction". If he had stuck with the war in Afghanistan, I am pretty sure we would be in a better state and Osama would be sitting next to Khalid.

Refer back to #3. Again, we were giving Taliban a major ass kick but then Bush decided to bail on that and go after Sadam. Hopefully Obama will stick with his words and turn the focus back on Afghanistan. But again, I would not give Osama any credit for this.

That was a semi joke that failed miserably (my original posting not your reply). I don't think Al Qaeda would literally turn him over but I just find it ironic how Osama keeps brainwashing young people into becoming a martyr while he hides in his caves putting out useless videos. But I do see your point about him sacrificing his life even though I still think he could make the ultimate sacrifice.
