Lose the can lights and get a table lamp.

If you can afford it, pick a light cheery color that will brighten up the room.

If you can afford it some crown always helps a room.

If you do change the wall color, consider painting your shelves white.

That is a really nice window. Try finding a cushion to put on the sill though.

And last but certainly not least, never leave your walls blank. Load them with what ever your interested in. On my walls I have 3 maps, a copy of The Declaration of Independence, A random picture of a knight, a bunch of random train tickets from the early 1900's, a confederate 10 dollar bill from 1864 and a couple other things. Really, you've just got to make it personal.

Lacking in decoration on the walls mainly. I merely suggested AC/DC simply because you can't go wrong with them.

It should. Because your book shelves from what I can tell are only at the one side of the room. Your welcome about the pillows. Keep your eye out for a long cushion that could lay flat on the sill though.

Could you post new pictures when you get more books and pillows?
