I'm off speed games and 1v1 for good and forever.

I simply cannot take the stress that comes from the many aspects of luck in these games. Whether it be the dice, cards, turn order, position, suiciders, i just can't take it anymore and am done for good.

Every time i say, "oh you know what, ill play a speed game its ok i won't lose any points" i must pinch myself because i will lose points, it always seems that way when im playing them so i no longer can.

Its not so much the losing of points (even though it kinda is) its more about the waste of time. Ive played too many speed games where i sit at the comp for an hour or more only to have someone suicide into me during the crucial part of the game and basically handing the game over to whoever goes after them on a silver platter.

I'm done, for good.

uh, why would suicide bother you in 1v1?

You seem to have discovered the rank at which 1v1 no longer becomes a profitable endeavor for you. If your major concern is gaining points, you're probably better off in bigger games anyway. Enjoy your new freedom.

I am trying to quit 1 v1's as well. Hence my rank went up, but my fun level has decreased. It is quite the conundrum.....

I tried quitting speed games and 1v1s and doodle assassins before.

No longer play doodle assassins.

One down, second attempt on the other two... (will be going back to speed games later, just a temporary leave)

I see... lose points and play or don't play and lose some points?

Guess you just have to decide if playing or having the points is more important.

oh, you can easily spend a week gaining points, and spend them in 4 or 5 speed games, and like you say...because of one silly noob play...

the 1v1s are fun as hell though... you just cant win points on them... I cant give up my world 2.1 1v1..because they are so fun...but from a point perspective they are a disaster....even winning 77% nets almost nothing...so I just play them for fun...and deal with my score...

and then jumping into other 1v1 where you have a 50% chance of winning 10 points or losing 30...yeah...you better be in that for the fun, and not the points...lol

In short, I feel your pain. :D

assassin games are worse. I played some last weekend and there is always 1 player that doesnt know what they are doing. Also, I took notice some of the BS ratings that just came in from these games. They dont know how to play and leave poor ratings.

I believe you and I have the top two losses on doodle assassin...of course most realize that its because we actually played it with a lot of points which makes it nearly impossible to win on, unless you win twice as many as your odds would make it possible...and even then...you only break even

I don't know.......speed is insanely fun.

But the cost......Ohhh...the cost.

1V1's should be limited to your more favorite obscure map.

Then it's more like fishing.....and it's productive.

I use New World, and usually win 70%.
If I loose, then it's usually a damn good game, with something learned to walk away with.

Totally agree with the 1v1 stuff! Its such an easy way to make points but it such as easy way to lose them. Doodle earth is the worst/best.

1v1s have always been a crap shoot. Other player gets a decent drop with the first go
and you're pretty much screwed right from the start.

A 1v1 team setting would be a nice option to increase both players odds of success
and make for a good challenging match.

Well...................it wasn't long before the addiction got to me. I have been playing a few 1v1 and speeds recently thinking that things would be different. But are they? Unfortunetly no, i lose hundreds of points on that crap. I need to stop, and as of 8:53pm EST April 2, 2009 ad i am done, forever!

I don't understand this...how is a speed game of say...5 players any more of a luck-crapshoot than a casual game of those same 5 players?
Seems illogical to me.

I try to avoid sequential escalating in speed. People make better decisions in casual since they have been away from the site. But after playing the same escalating game for 2 hours, people tend to go for slimmer shots at victory and ending the game.

Ok, I can kind of see that, I guess. I've always viewed things in almost the opposite perspective...when people are "away from their game" for 24 hours, it can be easy to "forget what my strategy was", if you will. For me, that would seem to screw the game up worse than anything. Then again, that may be due to my rather large number of games running all the time.

LOL. Yep. I believe that...just like Rachel Ray giving up Dunkin Donuts coffee, or Emeril not using garlic, just like Scarface giving up dope, or George Steinbrener giving up the Yankees, it ain't gonna happen!

Just take a break....play slow seq. 1v1. games....but play more 8 player and team games!!
