Double turns in tournaments

I personally think that this should not be allowed in tournaments only just for the fact that it is an unfair advantage. I mean correct me if I'm wrong but I really believe that this is an unfair tactic in tournament games.

Sounds like the same old freestyle trick. If you join a freestyle turny be ready for it.

I understand tricks and what not, which I don't mind in casual games, but I think that tournaments should not have double turns.

Well. Then you're saying that the freestyle setting should not be available to tournament organisers. Wouldn't it be simplier if you just didn't join freestyle tournaments and instead just joined tournaments using the seq. setting? Or am I missing something here?

That seems to me like a fairly arbitrary place to draw the line. Why is this particular tactic acceptable in public games, but not in tournaments?

Moved to Tournament General Info.

I say not in tournaments because they are elimination based unlike casual games.

Public games are elimination based. When you lose all your armies, you're out.

You're right that there shouldn't be double turns. But they shouldn't exist anywhere. Tournaments aren't special.

Alright maybe I'm wrong. I guess I just don't know what I'm talking about.

Yes, however, if a TO said that double-turns would mean that the player would be disqualified, then you have something to think about for future FS tournaments.

I'm thinking about making another FS tourney and making double turns an automatic elimination

Why not just make a torunament using the seq. setting then???

Then you wouldn't be able to both play at the same time. If you did this, I suggest having timezones matching players up to give them a chance to play at the same time, or pick maps and Esc, that will make players want to take cards etc.

Well. Then it would make sense to set up a speed tournament. In a 24 h freestyle, no one reasonably accustomed to freestyle would wanna make his move at the same time as his opponent. No matter what, a non-speed freestyle will degenerate into seq. play with the usual freestyle tactics such as de facto double turns.

How about you quit trying to shoot down jp's and my ideas. No one ever said you had to join the tournament.
