I've Had Enough

So for the SECOND time in my ConquerClub life, I am receiving specific and clear threats to my life. Threats which, by their nature, I find I must take seriously for my safety, as well as the safety of my wife and my students.
Since ConquerClub, in their infinite incompetence (apparently to include lackattack, though I have no confirmation that he's even been told), is unwilling to take action to work with me on this as well as the fact that this is precisely the same reaction I received from TeamCC the first time this happened (some time ago), I have determined that I have no choice but to go to the authorities. My school district has advised me to quit the site and to proceed through legal channels to have the identity of the individual making those threats to me revealed to law enforcement agencies.
I am therefore taking their advise and, following these postings to make sure that everyone is aware of the site's willingness to turn a blind eye to clear and serious cyber-bullying, I will never return, regardless of the outcome of the legal proceedings. Don't bother PM'ing, as I will not see it.
JoJo123 has graciously agreed to finish running the Sweet Sixes Tournament that I started (my only current tourney). The premium prizes for that tournament WILL still be awarded.
To those of you with whom I am currently involved in games and tournaments with, as well as those tournament organizers, I apologize for dropping out like this. I have not joined any new "normal" games in quite sometime, as this necessity began to become apparent to me, nor have I joined any new tournaments. I have continued to join tournament games, because I didn't want to cause a delay in the tournament itself unexpectedly...my deadbeating out of those games should allow the tournament organizers time to adjust to the drop, I hope.
To those of you perpetrating this violence as well as those who are, upon reading this, rejoicing in it's result, I can only say that I do sincerely wish that you will get what you so richly deserve in life.
I believe I have gained a reputation for balance, clear-headedness and not acting in a knee-jerk fashion, even among those who tended to disagree with me...think on that reputation while you contemplate what it must have taken to get me to leave the site in this fashion.
And finally, don't let "TeamCC" bullshit you about this not being a serious problem or to say they're not aware of what the problem may be (though individual lower-level moderators probably aren't, I should add). They're lying through their fucking teeth.

Cyber-bullying/threats are an incredibly serious matter. Any business that encourages social interactions/networking in any way (whether it be Facebook, Myspace, or ConquerClub) should take such matters seriously. To abandon paying members and let other individuals bully them into feeling threatened and unsafe is utterly despicable.
Rest assured we will get a nice, simply little post from a moderator explaining 'Please make us more aware of the problem so we can take proper actions', despite it having been reported (I'm sure) numerous times, by numerous individuals.
While it
is up to moderation regarding idiotic, childish insults (eg: changing someone's username to have a type of food it in as a means of "insult" and creating a blatantly flamebaiting post with it in the title), threats are not something that should be taken lightly. If one of your paying members is threatened, he/she reports it to moderators, action is not taken (as is apparently the case here), and something actually happens to said user; who then becomes responsible as having facilitated the violence?
Even if CC won the legal battle (we've seen their legal skills

), I'm pretty sure they wouldn't want the fact that they easily could have prevented it from ever having happened simply by making their moderators do what they are there to do.
Cyber-bullying is a
very real part of our current society, and
does lead to real life violence.

oh how i long for the good ol days, when all you had to do was walk right up to the bully and punch him nice and hard in the mouth, and problem solved.

That would be nice. Technology, however, gives even the tiniest, defenseless little bastards a wall to hide behind and bully.
@Woodruff: I must give you my sincerest condolences and wish you good luck in your endeavors. As far I my calculations go, you happen to be on the wrong list of users to earn the respect/defense of the moderation.

... Take care, Woodruff. I usually disagreed with you but you were always rather fair minded in my book.
... And you're a vet, man. We don't take sh*t from civies. If there is an actual physical threat, arm yourself and rest easy.
... Cheers, man. Happy trails.

Ode to my dearest woodruff, for I bid thee farewell. As I look upon yonder starship and ponder, yet so weary, oh how, oh why, oh what could have been done to prevent thy lose? So, then, amidst the trekkie fans and and other nerds, I think, I see, I wonder, what mod/admin did you contact for such help? For if it was Andy or thy lack then I would not expecteth.
In all seriousness, what happened? Who did you contact for help and who is making such threats?
Bye.

Wow, I'm sorry to hear that woodruff, that's fucked up. I can't imagine anyone taking CC seriously enough to actually legitimately threaten violence, but then again the world is full of people with shit for brains...

Will miss ya woodruff, as you actually did moderate yourself and was respectful to any that you bantered with. As for the ass hole that threatened you and those that said "It is nothing big," to hell with them. You are a good man, and one that I respect.

I don't want to see you go.
You've been an asset to CC, and anyone who gives personal threats is a pathetic idiot. Especially to a stand-up guy.

Interestingly enough that very same moderator is perusing C&A as we speak. Instead of addressing issues of the personal safety of paying customers he has taken preference to locking threads pointing out the blatant double standards of other moderators. I, personally, would really like to see the statement TeamCC has to make with regards to Woodruff continually being threatened.

While I don't question it having been done per community guidelines, it still appears to not have been handled well enough to make an individual feel secure and safe to the extent that he is quitting something he has devoted a substantial amount of time to.
Could you elaborate, Woodruff, as to why you still feel uncomfortable despite TeamCC having done everything within their power to make you safe?
Also, I wish you luck in utilizing the proper legal channels to feel safe again. No one should have to live in fear because individuals with authority fail to act in their defense.

I gotta say, somethings you have said pissed me off. But, on the other hand, I also thought you were a pretty cool guy, and, ultimately, I will be sad to see you go

Best of luck to you and your issues.

You have to remember lgoasklucyl, that there are priorities within their policies. First things first, stuff your face with a mouthful of fruit so you can delay your answer. Then while you chew, go take care of the non-confrontational easy work first. Next, and almost nauseatingly later get back to the masses with a vague invariance.
