Conquer Club

The reason I'm posting this thread is because I would like to put some one on the spot who is blasting a good friend of mine for having God, yes God and one of his interests.

Here is the sermon that I have read so far:
you have god as one of your interest? man you are stupid and intelectually inferior to all of mankind. do you believe in dinasaurs? or do they not exist because the earth is 6000 years old and they aren't mentioned in the bible?

the fact you have god as an interest disgusts me and i think people like you are responsible for the overall stupidity of americans today

it bothers me because it shows your inability (and everyone elses inability who believe the way you do) to comprehend whats a reality in the year 2009. do you believe peter pan actually flew to neverland because of ferry dust? Probably not. so why the hell would you believe noah built an arc and saved two of every animal in the entire planet (excluding dinasaurs of course). also, by having godsav as your name, you could be of many different religions because there are tons of religions that have belief in god. But because you are american, and you have god as your interest i know you are a stupid fucking christian who will only be happy until the entire world is christian and your biggest fear in life is how many muslim babies are being born everyday




Now I'm a christian as well, yet I don't act the part which is why I don't preach about it. So just for the fun of it I say we show [player]WinklesMghee[/player] who all is a Christian or at least has faith in God!

Also it is very disrespectful to those who have beliefs, it is very un-American to do that, then again that's what America has turned into these days, so please leave the BS out of our path on this game, as this is really the one place I can escape all the BS for a couple hours.

Sounds like Winkles has every right to think what he thinks about you people. Pretty dead on actually...How about you guys become UNchristian? I wonder how you would feel if psychos on the street were yelling at you with bullhorns to denounce Jesus, so that you wouldn't be saved. You'd feel annoyed right, like they had no right to tell you what you should or shouldn't do right? But even with Winkles' rude, out of nowhere comment, he's still dead on about how you people behave. Maybe some people think this "being saved" business is a bunch of bullshit and it's time for it to stop. I applaud his action.

If they were to try to denounce Jesus from me I simply would ignore them and prove them wrong. He can do the same not to mention he went looking through my interests. He doesn't have to say i can't have God as one. My choice to make.

Perhaps. But by the nature of your name you are already forcing it upon everyone who comes into contact with you on this site. Some people, as hard as it may be for you to believe, find your name and what it connotes offensive. So he does have somewhat of a reason to say what he said. If your name was NewYorkYankeesRule, some people might also find that offensive, and you would have to expect at some point to be expecting ire from someone. I'm sorry buddy, but you asked for something like this when you chose the name. His name is WinklesMghee, it means nothing, it's a random assortment of words and letters that hold no significance whatsoever. You brought the realm and politics of god, jesus, and religion into it simply with the choice of your name. You lose on this one.

I don't usually wade into these sort of waters, but I see valid points on both sides of the argument. In terms of what is American and what is freedom, Godsav has the right to name his account whatever he likes. There are other people (Soldier4Christ) and even a usergroup dedicated to the Christian faith. By the same token, Winkles has the right to voice his disagreements, poorly worded and not very logical notwithstanding. In this case, I think it's better to ignore, foe, and move on. I don't see anything here that warrants any sort public discourse on the merits of religion.

FYI, I am not religious, If I had to pick one, I would say I'm Pastafarian.

I think we all should just be a number here on CC with no avi's. That way no one can be offended or insulted. How many people would we have playing here if it were just another bland game site. We all have the right to believe what we want. We all have the right to disagree with each other. But to call others names, that is just so childish. Grow up! I personally find a lot of avatars and names offensive, so what do you want lack to do? Make this a PC site. You'll have no one to play with then because everyone would leave for a site that lets them be who they are. I make no bones about my avi, I let people know I am a Christian, but I don't go around thumping them on their heads. Nor should any one else, and vise versa. Those who aren't Christians shouldn't go around thumping others on their heads.

I'd don't lose on this one. I chose the reason for a name. It shows I'm a Christian and there isn't anything you can tell me that will make me stop believing. It's a free country my choice of username.

I know everyone who commented on this "thread" has only the highest amount of intelligence the brain has to offer. So I thank you for responding. Godsav, you are right. It is 100% American for you to express your views openly about religion and what you believe in. It is your right. But why can't I express my views to you in a private manner. In a very american way, you express your views of christiantiy quite openly (although it is funny you said nothing about being a christian but I automatically knew you were one) and when I express my religious views privately to you, you put it on a thread so everyone can read about it. Why is it Amercian when you have freedom of choice but not American when I have freedom of choice? You are a hypocrite, and that is what I have been saying I despise. You claim to be christian. And you probably are. But would Jesus appreciate a pictuer of a bunny flahsing a gun? I think Jesus was a non violent person who would not appreciate or tolerate the presence of a gun in any situation. But yet you flaunt it on your conquer club profile while simoltaneously flaunting you are a christian giving mixed signals to everyone who is a different faith than yourself. The fact that I am American, allows me to utilize free speech in such a way, that even if it is negatively brought up in the public light, there can be no consequences for my action according to our constitutional rights. Who cares if something is "American" or not? This site is Canadian, I'm British, my server's Turkish and you're Childish - what's American about that?

If ANYONE AT ALL finds the name "Godsav1" to be offensive in the slightest, that individual needs to take a good, long, hard look at themselves and maybe try to find a clue. It's a purely meaningless name...hell, it's not even "Godsave1"...get a grip.

What I gather from this:

Someone has posted on Someone Else's wall.
Someone Else seems not to have liked what was posted.
Someone Else's Friend creates this thread to call attention to Someone's behaviour.
Someone's Friend comes to Someone's defense.
Someone complains about this thread in this thread.
Third Party complains about the complaint.

Noone has a clue what's going on or what started it.

Someone's wall appears to be posted on quite a lot by Someone's Friend, Someone Else and Someone Else's Friend.



If the parties at conflict want me to mediate I'm willing to do so. I recommend a big mug of cocoa, cookies and a group hug for starters. Then I'll need to know what started the conflict and what has happened. A/S/L of the involved and full access to everyone's bank accounts are optional but appreciated.


Seriously. If you guys have a problem with each other, either solve it by pm or, if that is not possible, foe each other and block the other party from sending you pms as detailed here. If walls and/or inboxes are being spammed report it in C&A, but don't go and create unnecessary work for us moderators by escalating things and taking your silliness to the fora.


Now which will it be? My offer of helping you solve whatever your problem with each other is stands, if you don't want that, STFU.

It seems this was a private conversation posted (based on the above).

I am absolutely a Christian, but find the inference that Christianity = the earth is only 6000 years old to be quite wrong, even offensive. As for dinosaurs, even modern Creationists (aka Dr Morris, the Creation Institute, etc.) accept that dinosaurs existed. They just think they were mostly killed off in Noahs flood (last time I checked the site .. they tend to shift opinions a lot, so it might have changed).

If you really want to get into this, I suggest the over 100 page post begun by Widowmakers over a year ago (and kept more or less active on and off since)... or perhaps one of the other spin offs.
