This is my second Eliminator tournament. The rules are the same as the first, except all games will be played on the Random map.
Quick Summary Win your 8-player escalating game for a chance to eliminate your opponents! Play each one in 1v1 games with your home settings to knock them out of the tournament! All the survivors get thrown back into a new escalating game, and we start over! Keep going until only the champion remains!!!
Now for the gritty details...
Players will be split up into 8-player groups for the beginning of the tournament. One winner will emerge from each group to advance to the finals. Each player begins the game with one (1) elimination point (this will be explained later). Play is split up into 2 phases:
Phase 1: Battle All surviving players in the group will battle on the Random map. The settings will be Automatic, Sequential, Escalating, Sunny, Chained. The winner of the Battle phase becomes The Eliminator in Phase 2.
Phase 2: Elimination The Eliminator plays n 1v1 games on the Random map (with his/her home settings) against each of the surviving challengers, where n is the number of elimination points the challenger has. For each game the challenger loses, he/she loses one elimination point. Once you have zero (0) elimination points, you are eliminated from the tournament. Each time The Eliminator eliminates a player, he/she gains one elimination point. The Eliminator has immunity in this phase, and cannot lose points nor be eliminated. After the Elimination phase, all surviving players return to the Battle Phase.
End of Round A winner can be decided in one of two ways:
1) During the Elimination phase, The Eliminator eliminates all remaining challengers. 2) After the Elimination phase, only 2 players remain. The two remaining players will play a best-of-3 series to determine the winner (one on each home map/settings & one on Battle map/settings. Each time a player loses a series, he/she loses an elimination point. This continues until one player is eliminated.
Elimination points do not carry over to the finals. In the final round, everyone will start with one (1) elimination point.
Deadlocks To avoid deadlocks, a 30 round cap will be put on the Battle phase. Any Battle games which last longer than 30 rounds will be declared null. At this point, all players eliminated in the previous Elimination phase will be "resurrected" with one (1) elimination point and a new Battle game will be created.

All games will be Random map, Automatic & Sequential, but you may choose spoils, fog, & reinforcements.
