As a serious suggestion, I don't much like the title. The font bothers me. I also like colorful maps, but that is obv not the style you are going for.

What I did:
I changed the colors to ones similar to on the arctic map. Those were decided to be quite cold colors at the time of that maps creation so I figure it worked. I don't want to do the uniform color ...

The map's starting to shape up quite nicely. I don't have time for a detailed look, but something that is quite obvious to me is the placement of territory labels. For example Pyrenees, Garonne, Tarn, Ardeche, Mayenne. There's others as well, but perhaps see if you can better place the labels to ...

Also gimil has taken upon himself the task of redrawing the borders again to get rid of any whitespots so yeah ...

first of all both maps exceed the maximum size regulations you have to resize them.

the white spots are still there. checked on 2 crts and 2 lcds

the 4 way border needs to be solved even if there's a little movement to the north it is not enough. so just move the borders a bit more.
