Re: Solar System in need of an Update!

Because of the need to edit the code, or changing the map?

Solar System in need of an Update!

The current Solar System map has two kuiper belt objects that are still using their original numerical names. I guess that since the map was originally made the scientists decided on the actual names, because I looked them up and found them.

136472 is now called Makemake , after the creator of ...

Re: 2158

Round 4 to 6 :
The Kuiper Belt Pirates complete their invasion of the last outer territory colonies. Once they complete that, they head for Neptune space, and gather a small fleet of ships in high orbit of the planet. In response, the Neptunians quickly set up a planetary defense network consisting ...

(( this is a kind of sequal to my World War IV idea I did HERE . Only this time, it's set much later on and is based on the interplanetary scenario going on here in Game 3296390 . ))

Re: Treaties

Hi guys,me again. This thing never took off but I am in a game where I'd like an official treaty, so this is going to be the real deal and not just an example.
(and yes, I realize I'm getting my ass handed to me in the game right now. I'm hoping this will help me to bounce back).

Game : 2425668 ...

Re: World War IV

huh, didn't know people kept commenting on this after I left it. Glad some people enjoyed it, I might try again one day.

I thought of trying maybe with a sci-fi edge in a Solar System map (space fleets and orbital bombardments would make exciting story-telling). Hopefully it would be interesting ...

meh i dont think its necesary if you are making a truce...you shouldnt be stupid enuf to leave a gap. if someone breaks it then neg and ignore
But I have this nasty tendancy to try and work out my problems with others... *Sigh*

Anyway, I will probably start doing this for my truces. If 99% of the ...

OK I agree I went maybe overboard on the detail of it all, but I do think that it could help people to at least write down the terms in a public place (ideally the forum). Because I've been in and seen many times when the truce ended abruptly, this player saying he gave a warning, this one saying he ...

Here we could have a treaty in which player 3 has become so powerful all other players decide to unite against him until he's been eliminated from the game (maybe he was acting like an arrogent jerk or something to merit this, I don't know.)

Treaty : (type of treaty)
Mutual Defense Pact ...

Instead of Player 1,2,3... you would have the names of course. And I want to specify, only those who want to would do this. I just find it would help avoid confusion so people don't get angry and start giving each other bad reps because the terms of the truce where unclear.

EDIT:... oops, forgot ...

Treaties

This is not really a suggestion to be put into the game. I've just noticed that some people take offense to truces or other such temporary diplomatic agreements being made in standard games (in other words, those where it's everyone VS everyone else.)

Now personally I find that these truces are no ...

Sorry but I've canceled the idea. It was taking a lot of work and everyone in game seems to be pissed at me because I was hoarding groups of 30 armies in my nation. I might do something like this one day but for now no one involved seems to be interested aside from me.

By this point sides begin to form, though they are not clear cut. The South American , Nigerians and South Africans are in a lengthy conflict that seems to give no indication of letting up. While elsewhere on the planet, Germania , North America and Australia are all struggling to keep the Chinese ...

LOL, canuks... is that because of our Canoes or what?

I wonder what Quebecers would call themselves... mostly the only joke I can think of is "Un bon vrai Serge". But I don't know if that applies here (I never even got it.)

So... is there any audience participation? aren't you just summarizing what happened in a game in fancy words?

So I just sit here right? I don't do nothing? nobody does... you just narate?

Correct? Give the man an Oscar! What, you want this locked?
No need to lock it, I welcome comments.

in the mean time maybe a pen and paper to write the game number down will help

i know i know thats sooo much extra work :D

I was wondering about this too. I was in a game once where a guy and his team mate where using the freestyle turns system to make us wait 23 hours and making it so we would miss our turns. Because of them I don't play those types of games anymore which sucks because if it wasn't for that I would ...

I still don't really see how this could be used to cheat, I mean other than the fact that it will encourage people to do it, when before they might not have wanted to go through the trouble of using MSN to form their secret pact.

If we added a limit of 2 players per secret team though...

Clans, Leages, Guilds or just Teams?

Is this where I will find a team of players with which I can play repeatedly together. I was wondering if there is a place in the forum where players can apply to these groups or where groups can display the description of their clan. Because I am looking for such a group and would like to join one ...
