I'd consider making the castle walls...not so hard and dark. Compare the outline to other areas on the map, and it looks a little out of place. Perhaps a gray...and perhaps a softer touch instead of the hard.
Lightened the castle walls, although, i need to keep then dark enough to be obvious because they act as impassibles in the castles, so you need to be able to see where they are.
Darkened Cardiff now.
When i get my small nearer finalised i will post the large.
I've not read any of the posts, so forgive me if this is already being addressed, but after looking over the map I have two gameplay concerns:
1. I undertstand that if I want to attack a castle I have to hold the territory within it lies. But let's say i want to attack Tenenhair: which territory of the castle can I hit? And who can hit me?
2. As a colorblind player who doesn't know the UK terribly well, I don't know where Pictland, Mercia, and North are.
I really like the use of the seas, especially with the neutral starts. I would make the opening count low - one or two. Sure it's an easy card, but if you leave any armies there they get wiped out, so it quickly becomes an easy card for somebody else. It would make the seas best for quick but difficult to defend strikes into enemy lands.
After reading what oaktown said im concerned about the usability for colorblind people. The outer colors of each continent seem a little bland and alot of them blend to well with the backgrond. I believe they need more contrast for those like oaktown who have colorblind issues

Maybe have a conversation with oaktown, he'll be better at it than me
Yea. Oaktown, are there any colours which are easier to distinguish than others? I'm wondering if we can find unique but still subtle colours which would work.

Cardiff? to me i can hardly read it, so it looks like Gardiff
in other words, i can harldy read the names of the places on the small
It seems that in general the font looks nice but certain letters are hard to see. Tel, is there any way you could brush up the font by hand? Maybe removing the curl on the C in Cardiff and straightening out the E's in E. Engle and touching it up to look like the normal font.

i can but, im away for the weekend, so cant do it yet. But when i come back i will knock something up.
The colorblind issues can be resolved with some work, but i've got other play questions. The biggest one being the attack routes between the territories and the castles, especially Tenenhair: which territory of the castle can be hit from the outside? For ease of play you may want to redesign some of the castles to have a clear gate territory, with everything else nestled safely behind the walls.
gimil wrote:When your back tel can you start posting both small and large images in a post? makes it easier to follow
I probably can manage that.

They are shown by the green strip going into the castle, but if you want i can rename all the territories that can attack(/be attacked by) the outside gate. But i think it gets a bit boring having gate everywhere...
As for the colourblind problem, i will sit back and have a good think about that. On which continent borders is it the worst?
Here we go, corrected the letter problem, is it clear now?
Fixed a few other things, the sea army circles seem to have messed up again Should not be hard to fix though.
