Circumcision

Pardon my ignorance on this topic. I was circumcised at birth, I had no say in this matter. So what you guys are saying about that whole nerve-ending, pleasure stuff is that I can waste out my head pleasure-receptors? I read somewhere in this thread that you waste out everything so that sex doesn't feel as good. Is this true?

Your foreskin has a lot of nerve endings in it, so it does double duty as another pleasure receptor as well as protecting your glans (head) of your penis (it does other things, but let's not talk about those). Once you remove the foreskin, you just removed a lot of nerves and your head is no longer protected. Since it's SUPPOSED to be protected by the foreskin, it wasn't designed to withstand elements, and thus dries out so it can, resulting in more loss of feeling. I wouldn't worry about it if I were you though...

well, as for the pain thing, i don't think that should be particularly thought about. sure, it causes great pain for the baby, but i don't think anyone here has trauma or even faint, misty memories of when the man in white hacked off part of my member.

For all you ladies out there :

Having a circumised penis is much cleaner and you have less chance of getting nasty diseases! So hell yeah go circumised and suck on the lolly pop

That depends on method of circumcision. In the method where the Rabbi uses his mouth to remove the foreskin there is a chance of getting std's right in the procedure! (read this in MacLean's sometime, in an article about PCism and religious rights btw)

The only way the a circumcised penis is "much cleaner" is if you never bathe. And the diseases is only "proven" for AIDS, and that's for transition to males, not to females. Besides, you asked them to "suck on the lolly pop", and the chance of getting AIDS from oral sex is very low.

No you're right... we shouldn't think about it at all.

By that logic (if I ever had a child) it'd be fine for me to commission a cocaine-addled chimpanzee to pluck out one of the child's eyes with a pair of oversized rusty tweezers a week after its birth... after all, the baby isn't going to remember it, so that makes it ok, right?

I am not sure on this one....both my boys are not circumcised..but my baby will have to be since he has a condition called hypospadeus (sp) this is where the foreskin does not grow properly,and the urethra has grown in the wrong spot, because i never circumcised him ,there is a 90% fix rate for him.

I would not personally circumcise my child without a medical reason but it does, in all seriousness, prolong sex and makes it generally more pleasurable for the female.. ladies can take a little longer.

Who needs a medical reason? All you really need is a razor blade and a steady hand. Napkins are useful too.
