Coleman, you need to hire me as your assistant. That way, you'll have more time to put into CC. LOLColeman wrote:Yeah, that's kind of my problem. I know I don't fit guru level, but I know a bit about the 3 guru level required parts.
I do a virtual crap ton of javascript at my work, including forcing it to read from and write to databases, which is a pain as you pretty much need 3 languages and some action scripts and a very very good understanding of what session is.
I pretty much know this much...
1) I currently work 18-40 hours a week already.
2) I'm not ready to quit that job to apply for this one, especially since it looks project oriented (as in, project done then you wave goodbye).
3) I'm also a full time student in college.
Hopefully they can find their guru level guy.
If not... Well after their second casting call I might finally bother putting my portfolio together.
Thats not a word.Twill wrote:Conquerific
Believe me, when we hire someone, we're going to be taking as much of their time as we can...if they have time to teach you, we obviously aren't pushing them hard enoughtimme10 wrote:man i wish i was older, and actually knew what half this stuff is.
by the way twill, if you do end up hiring somebody, drop me a line, cause i'd like to get them to teach me some stuff.
Question: if you put free work you did on your resume, will that make potential employers think to pay you less or something?klupar wrote:1st rule of a job, never do anything for free.Strife wrote:I know a computer nerd, I'll see if he's up to it. Also, I'm ok with computers and I work for free.
I wouldn't suspect so, simply because with any work your skills are improving.static_ice wrote:Question: if you put free work you did on your resume, will that make potential employers think to pay you less or something?klupar wrote:1st rule of a job, never do anything for free.Strife wrote:I know a computer nerd, I'll see if he's up to it. You don't write whether you were paid or not on the resume so it should have no effect. If you do volunteer work it would usually be seen as a positive quality because it shows you are willing to work for reasons other than money.static_ice wrote:Question: if you put free work you did on your resume, will that make potential employers think to pay you less or something?klupar wrote:1st rule of a job, never do anything for free.Strife wrote:I know a computer nerd, I'll see if he's up to it. Don't work for that cheapskate fitz... I'll double the pay, plus I'll give a 50% overtime loading and pay an additional 15% of your pay into a pension fund. Salary sacrificing is also available.AAFitz wrote:I wouldn't worry about it, but if you want, I can offer you 75% more pay than you got at one of those free jobs if you'd like.
