Potential classic revamp?

Post by gimil »

Now the foundry knows that everyone lieks to have a huffing match with the foundry folk whenever we do a revamp, but lately a few people have been asking about a possible classic revamp. My first thoughts where "this will never happen"

I then got thinking, well why not?

I thought to myself maybe the community would support i revamp if i done it myself, and done it in the style of the board game map.

The image would be no larger than the current map and it would reduce some of the colorblind issues present on the current map. We would also elimenate the army circles over terr names issue.

There is nothing official about a classic revamp i just want to hear opinion.

why do you foundry folk always have to tamper with things? if it aint broke, don`t fix it.

You have made all these new style maps with loads of bonuses and stuff for people wanting a different sort of game. Fair enough, give people the choice of game they want to play and keep making all your different style maps, but please leave the regular maps alone for those of us that just want to play risk!

dude, just to clarify, "revamp" = just redoign the images. fixing things and making it look better, with the goal of not actually changing anything or affecting gameplay at all... (otherwise it would really disrupt games that are in progress when the revamp occurs, messing up people's fortifications and plans) at least that's what I thought it ment last time I visited the foundry.

u map foundry people should explain ur terms more when u attempt to ask oppinions of the ignorant masses. lol.

anyhow, I'm all for it.

I did actually realise that he meant that none of the specifics of the map would change, i just do not see any point in a revamp, that was my opinion.

Sorry if i seemed ignorant, maybe the teacher could teach me to spell, play and not be a twat?

I voted No.

I think a contest would be more fun, and would give nay-sayers more options. I lot of people dont want ANY revamp, so when we force them (lol) we should at least give them some choices/

I support attempting a revamp, but i would have to see your final product to make the choice between new and old.

why not keep the original and also add this one as another option? and have both and with the revamp just add a few extra territories?

thats what i would vote for.

If you want to see the negatives to competition, check out canada :)

Its revamp was the most graphically pleasing but the furthest from the origonal, which people didnt like.

no offense gimil but i support a revamp too but your poll should include an option of someelse other than you doing the revamp eg a competition or the likes - this is nothing against you personally or as an artist but i do think other map makers should also be given a shot at this one.

edit: I genuinely think you need to take down your poll and replace it with a more general one - should this be done or not, let's discuss the map maker afterwards
Don't now why people on here don't like being cooks, remember under siege: A former SEAL, now cook, is the only person who can stop a gang of terrorists when they sieze control of a US Navy battleship.

on second thought...I'd kinda just rather keep the current map. that would take too long for me to get used to.
