Im not sure about this...Reason being is that Yorkie was making the tournament for all clans and not just for one specific clan playing against other clans!!!

I dont think this breaks CC tournament organising laws and i hope this is reviewed fairly quickly.

as someone that runs tourneys consistently, yorkie was certainly more than aware of that rule, and assuming that he is allowed to break the rules because he runs successful tourneys is a cop out. i do think that the rule should be changed. i think anyone that is running tourneys should be allowed to use those privileges for their in-clan things as well, however all of the rest of us must abide by the rules, and so must yorkie and his clan, whoever they are.

Can op please show us this rule written in stone. I remember the rule that came into force but it was for one clan making tournies against other clans....

Yorkie is clearly making all games for all clans here

Hulmey I think you missed the part where Yorkie was having tourneys for his own clan (nothing to do with this tourney).

And I remember some time ago when the Dragoons got in trouble for the exact thing.... maybe it was Marv.. ;) I'm sure someone knows who had the privs taken away. When you find it, you will see that this "rule" is not a new one that OP or Steel had just made up :o

Too right i fast posted you. Yorkie is one of the best TO's in the business and he is treated like this for all his hard work!!!

I will abdon all my tournaments from now on and get as many fellowTO's to do the same. To think that i could have been treated as yorkie has done is terrbile.

I think there is a big difference in using tounrament privs for your clan than using them for ALL the clans in CC. I think this has been over looked by you OP and you should take another look at it.

Yorkie was not organising this tournament for his clan but for ALL the clans on CC. If this is a crime then so should tournaments that need a certain amount of points to enter them.

Ps...you have always done a great job here OP and you are one the most respected mods here. But i think you got it worng this time!

hulmey, you need to pay attention a little more. He was not creating games for just ALL clans. He was specifically running an in-clan tournament, AS WELL AS inter-clan challenge games.

He broke the rules. Simple as that.

If you wish to try and get all Organizers to abandon their tournaments, feel free to try, but I do not think you will be very successful.

Hulmey...... He was running another tourney (his punishment has nothing to do with THIS "all clan tourney") He was running one with ONLY HIS CLAN (using the his privs he had gained from this one). Im not sure how to explain this to you . . . :?

if thats the case happyand OP then i apologise!!

But i still think a 6 month ban is very harsh on such a good servant of CC as yorkie. His tournament's are higly organised, popular and very pleasant. Maybe a warning should have been enough here?!?!

And why disappoint all the players in his other tournaments as well??? Doubles league was very popular and loved by many people :(

Ok, how many tourneys has Yorkie ever made? Im guessing he has been doing this for a while. . . which means that he knew the rules clearly. Just because someone has had successful tourneys in the past, doesn't mean they get to do what they want with something that was trusted to them.

oh f*ck...im allowed to spend 2 hours of my day organising tournies...Big priv....Go try run a tournie happy!!

If yorkie ran in clan tournies he was wrong but now over 300 people have been paid to suffer and CC has lost a good TO. I think a better approach should ahve been called for considering the amount of time yorkie has donated to CC and its members!!

i think we actually had our privs taken away from several members before the rule was officially announced. post announcement we tried to bargain via pm's for the rights to host in-clan tourneys and challenges with tourney privs, but were rebuffed on all of our attempts. which is the main reason you dont see many dragoons running tournaments these days.

the bitch part of that stupid rule was when it began we were told it would be only for a few months til rivals came out. and here we are over a year later still unable to do so. we've learned to get by without it, but it certainly makes things difficult.

anybody that says yorkie should be allowed to break the rules because he is so active is a douche.

<edit>
I don't think 6 months is that harsh when abandoning tournaments doesn't get you a 6 month ban until the 4th offense. And what yorkie did was against a rule that he was clearly aware of because he has staunchly opposed it. Until lack is able to install Rivals (which isn't even released), private/clan tournaments just have to wait. Unless the current directors and lack agree to allow another director to oversee private privs.

There's a difference between running good public tournaments and using public labels for private games. This shouldn't keep you from running your tournaments by the rules.

Hulmey Im not trying to take anything away from the hard work that the tourney organizers do. I think you mis-read where I was going with that. I see what they do and I give them a huge pat on the back for it.

I was trying to get you to first understand that he was not in trouble for how "this particular tourney" was being run. It was that he was using his privs for other things that were not allowed. I was really enjoying this particular tourney we have going here. You have to see though that it was not the MODS that really stopped this tourney, it was Yorkies actions that had stopped his tourneys. The reason we seem to be arguing over it in this particular thread is because he had brought it up in here.

and hwhrhett, I was simply bringing up the fact that people in the past have been in trouble for this as well, Marv was one that I had remembered reading many posts about.

Edit... and its not lacks fault that the clans have not been able to have their tourney priv things yet... he has been waiting for an update from another site which he had no control over.
