You should put a 1 round limit on sign-ups for new maps, they seem to be hanging around too long.
Then you can just start them with however many have signed up.
Just my humble opinion...

Nah, I want to give them a chance to fill up if enough people want in. I don't see any reason to close registration at a set time. Once the maps are live then the games will start and you can't very well sign up after that.

Well, I think everyone who wants in would have checked throughout the course of a round. I don't like large games just want to see someone win so I can challenge 1v1 if I like the map..
British Isles is the only one I want that I don't have atm. It always seems to be in a challenge.

Yeah, it's a popular one. As for the new maps, waiting tell we are done so you can just steal them away in a challenge is a prefectly viable strategy.
