lol, I don't know how to make individual points different colors. But with this zoomed in version you should be able to find your own dot if you know your scores and games.

Looks like you're one of the top 3 based on this Robinette. I'm assuming you're the dot just below the 12 line and furthest to the right. The ones high above 350 and 450 look like the other 2 furthest away (to my eye). The one above 450 must be Pilate (he has such a high score and just under 450 games). And by the same logic Belzbub would be the dot way above 350 (second highest score and 350 games). And Robinette has the 6th place/119 game combo.

Edit: I just realized the whole difference between the point and line thing might not be a good method because the units on the scales are so varied. Perhaps it doesn't matter though....I'm not sure.

If I can figure out that formula though I can easily put it into the excel file I have and sort the entire top 250.

I'm looking forward to seeing that!
And it would be great if you could you add vertical lines to the graph every 50 games

sully800 wrote:I'm assuming you're the dot just below the 12 line and furthest to the right.
yes, yes... that's me... I can see it (me that is)...
and............it looooooks like........maybeeee......... yes.....YES!.... I'M SURE OF IT! I am further away from the curved line than anybody else!!
Can you see that... yes.... look again...... go on...... measure it......SEE! SEE!

.......................Oh I have just GOT to find that horn!............................

I'm not following you... but if this means there is no need for me to find my horn, then... then...... then just forget about it... okay... OKAY?

BEST PLAYER

Post by naktay01 »

well I see there is some controversy in who's who as the best player. All the graph's and albert einstein anal. aside. best player I have played. is

P2

WHY.

never seen him/her make a mistake. calculated, strategic, and even without good placement makes the best of every situation.

I would like to see all the people that everyone listed in a six man/woman match. best of three to determine if there is a best or there is just alot of really great players. anyone up to the challenge? let me know

Thanks fireside for the vote :D I too would like to vote for myself, although I would say that I could only be considered one of the best when it comes to escalating games.

The flatrate/no cards game that I have played with other skilled opponents have all been toss ups. It is always possible to take down a powerful opponent if the rest of the players work together.

Whereas escalating games can be all over in one swift, well thought out, turn.

P2 blows.. .beat him once he beat me once and in the third game he made an alliance with someone who had 2 continent and was undisputably the strongest and about to win the game and lost it for both of us.... thats crappy strategy.

Marvaddin wrote:Many good players, like Scorba, Belzbub, #U, etc. But I still think the old Weidsun was the best one... 3 of his 4 multis were top-5 in the scoreboard (the last one was 14th, or sort of), and he almost never played team games (still reached 2300 points). Too bad he was a cheater and abandoned the site :(

Don't fvcking blame him.

I'm sick to friggin' death of multiplayer games. They're a constant drain on my points and I've yet to win one single pt in the 7/8 I've played.

Friend of mine asked me to join the triples tourney and I refused because I'm tired of watching my hard-earned pts trickle away by poor positioning, bad luck, or dead-beating partners.

Single player is the only way to play - I've even managed to amass a perfectly respectable score/game ratio as a result.

Actually I had p2 beat that whole game.. I enjoy playing p2... he likes the exact same settings as me...

The thing is he sucks at strategy and gets himself beat easy.

Ask N0g... that game was handed to him perfectly because of p2's suckiness.

rev

Post by naktay01 »

well rev it still remains 1/1/1 I don't think either of you suck. your both good players. I have just played p2 several times 8 or 9 times not 3. I just don't see him making alot of mental mistakes. of course I make mental mistakes live hitting the end fortify button instead of fortify and just screw my self in the game.
but I am sure u and p2 will play more games and I am sure you will both win your fair share

Robinette wrote:There is another way to look at the score...
The average # of points gained per game would perhaps be a better indicator of who is "best".
Of the top 100 players on the scoreboard, the following have averaged 10 or MORE points per completed game.
I've listed everybody by scoreboard ranking..... and.. umm, well, yes... it's because I prefer to be on TOP

Rank.....Avg.pts/game
6................11.8...........Robinette
8................20.4...........xMBKx
14..............14.8...........got heart86
18..............16.8...........geee1
19..............18.5...........hilts
29..............11.9...........#U
30..............14.5...........Dirty Sanchez
32..............14.5...........sully800
38..............18.0...........taode
43..............33.9...........Cromwell
52..............18.0...........marius
58..............11.0...........enterprise47
60..............13.6...........snusleppa
63..............11.8...........Eyestone
69..............13.2...........Enigma
71..............14.9...........karumai
85..............10.0...........stinkycheese
88..............17.3...........barbu1977
89..............10.7...........Paul Wall
90..............18.6...........stooby

By that system, I'd barely be in second... 1473 total points (473 points gained) in 14 matches = 33.8.

You'd need to actually go into the player's wins/losses in standard matches. It's tough to decide who is truly better than someone else. So the best way to decide is their score...
I was a major back when 1600 was major. Now that I'm back, I get to easily win a bunch of games to get my rank. Thank the 'tards here who suck at this game.

I remember when I was talking about my points per game ratio while I was still around 50 games. It really can't be a way of measuring the best player since you get so many fewer points for a win once your rating gets up there.

edit: I took this from a post I made a while back in the "What's the highest you've ever gotten on the scoreboard" thread.

"43rd with 1669. Not bad considering ive only played 37 games. At this rate i'll be at 2808 after 100 games. That would be sweet."

So that would put me at 18.1 points per game and 4th on the list...

Different players are good at different game types, so it's hard to say who's the best player. Is the best player the player who's gained the most points from playing their one particular game type, or is the best player the one who's good at all types of games?

I'm not even top 100 for escalating or team play, but I reckon I'm at least in the top three for my preferred game type. (standard, seq, flat rate)

Best player? Of course that's Marvaddin. There has not been a single game in which I have played with or against him that he hasn't won (Until qeee1 showed up in one of them). Make sure you choose sides carefully when Marv is playing.

Other players I admire are Scorba for his chilling calm in tense situations, Master Cheif for his bold, daring, courageous, and oftentimes reckless offensives, Fireside Poet for his perseverance, maniacmath17 for his planning and judgement. Wacicha, KoolBak, and many, many others also deserve to be on this list for qualities that transcend the game.

Thanks Riyanna. :D
We all can now see how you are a great player too... Maybe not the best player, but the most pleasant and kind person I played with here in CC, surely. You know you live in my heart :)

Ps: later I will have my revenge against qeee1
