Matsuri is one of the good guys. She helps to rescue Gaara when he's kidnapped and is, in fact, Gaara's student. If there is a Gaara character in this mafia (likely, he is a major charater, after all) then Matsuri may have a role that helps Gaara (who would obv. be town).

I watched naruto up to around episode 90 and I've never heard of her.. it's a conspiricy

Hopefuly this mafia won't completely ruin the naruto plot for me

I don't think so, because you at least get answers from a lynch. A no lynch ends up that the next day is like a day 1 with pointless votes.
